Under the cut is a full review for @serialsixtiesrp
Please keep in mind that everything written is merely my own personal opinion and nothing is intended to offend, but as constructive criticism. If the admins of the roleplay being reviewed could like or reblog this review, so I know itâs been seen, that would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to message me for further help or to clarify anything I havenât made clear.
URL:Â First of all, Iâm so sorry this review is so late. Life has been hectic! Okay, onto the review. I think your URL is great! Short, easy to remember (especially due to the alliteration), relevant and no dashes.Â
Icon:Â This icon is great too! Very striking and aesthetically pleasing, whilst being easy to see even when the icon is small. Iâd personally like the SS initials on it somewhere, just to tie that together. I normally am not a fan of potentially triggering things in icons, but since you are a horror rp and will probably be tagging your posts with that, it can be avoided by people who donât want to see it.Â
Theme:Â This theme is really lovely. Itâs neat and clean, but still interesting to look at. The colour scheme of red and black with a touch of white is a bit overdone, but it works well.Â
Navigation: Your main page navigation includes everything I expect to see. One tiny thing is that I donât think the application link needs âapp/applyâ, just apply would work. The actual navigation page again includes everything, and even more. The career suggestions page is a great idea.
Sidebar plot: I like your sidebar plot. I think it provides a good amount of information and reads well. Something I noticed though is that the first sentence is a bit of a run-on sentence. It could easily be tweaked to: âLily Valley, in 1963, was a quiet town; there were bad areas but all towns had them.â or â Lily Valley, in 1963, was a quiet town - there were bad areas but all towns had themâ or even having it as two separate sentences. It would flow much better. One thing I really like is that youâre being specific. The specific year and the name of the girl instead of just saying âa girlâ makes it feel much more thought-out and realistic.
Main plot: This main plot works well. Whilst I think a few sentences are a tiny bit clunky, which usually happens, overall the plot is well-written. Youâve included even more specific details, which I love. Iâm personally not a fan of rhetorical questions as the last sentence, I do see how it fits with this genre, so I think it works. The police reports are a great touch as well.
Graphics:Â Your graphics are very simple and I am a big fan of that. I actually donât have any critiques of these. In particular, I love your promo graphic. It really looks like it could be a movie poster. Very simple but eye-catching and summarises the genre and time period well.
Rules: Your rules are well-written, well-laid out and include everything I expect to see, so good work there.
Application: I think that everything is covered in this app and I like the inclusion of the motives section - thatâs a good touch. Itâd be nice to have a trigger section in the ooc section, so that people can tag any specific triggers. They could be posted to a trigger page and kept anonymous. Other than that, I have no critiques here.
Biographies: Since this is an OC rp, thereâs not much to say here.
Diversity: Again, this is an OC rp so I canât say much. I do love the list of wanted fcs you have though. Itâs very diverse and I hope your rp turns out that diverse.
Admins:Â You seem very helpful and very passionate about this rp and your answers are informative and detailed. I also donât see any spam posts, which is great!
Iâm not usually a horror rp type of person, but this is so well put together. I think this rp will be fantastic, so well done!
