that's such a good way to explain it!! i love it, because on the bridge in the end, he's still very still, but he's unmasked, and steve is questioning him - "don't make me do this", calling him bucky. and as soon as they're fighting again, it's fucking frenzied. and it's sort of like a hurricane, because the audience finally sees bucky's face, and the absolute RAGE and destruction beyond his expressions (because sebstan is a priceless gift), and it's beautiful but so different from what we had before. and for the rest of the movie he looks so angry and out of touch, and all of the emotion seems to just come back to him that wasn't allowed to be there before - mask or otherwise.

the first time i saw it i was so tense, i don't think because i thought bucky was going to die, but just because...it's a rather terrifying scene? it's really interesting in retrospect bc sebstan and other talk about how "still" the winter soldier is, and in the last ~20 minutes of the film, he's the exact opposite. he's shaking and he's sort of...enraged, and he's constantly squirming and moving and pulling. and re: being choked, i think just watching bucky writhing on top of steve is just kind of super haunting because it's already stopped being the winter soldier, it's beginning to be bucky, or at least some confusing and horrifying combination of the two beings.
