What type of pet do you prefer and why? What do you think this says about you? I've always been a dog person and can't quite deal with cats in the long run, I'd never want one on my own again. If you treat dogs the way you're supposed to, they are utterly loyal and the most amazing creatures you can find on this planet. I live in constant fear of being forgotten and being abandoned, so maybe that is why I am so drawn to dogs. 2. Do you write in pencil or pen? Why? Pen. Creates sharper edges. I don't like the frayed look pencil gives. 3. You can only eat one kind of vegetable for the rest of your life. All other foods are fine. What vegetable do you choose? Potato! 4. Describe your bed. Way too cozy in the morning. 5. Do you play an instrument? Properly? Not really. I "learned" piano, bass, guitar, lute - but can I really play any of these instruments? No. I have to accept the fact that I am just a huge fail with instruments and that I will never, in my whole life, ever be able to play my favorite instrument - the violin. 6. What book have you read the most? Krabat by Ottfried Preußler. I think it's called The Black Mill in english? No matter how often I read through it, the story still really gets to me. Juro, Tonda and Merten are my favorite characters. 7. It’s raining outside. Do you run out and play, or stay inside and keep warm? Usually, I just stay inside and, if I don't have anything to do, sit by the open window and watch the rain. I really enjoy rainy days. I like the sound so much, that when I walk through the rain with an umbrella, I'll turn my mp3-player off to listen to the sound of it. 8. If you were to compliment yourself (which you should), what would you say? "I really like your lips and petite hands and wrists, although it's a pity you can never wear jewelry on them to enhance them because they are so delicate that nothing ever fits." 9. I have a birthmark on the back of my neck, loads of scars from measles, one on my bellybutton, one across my throath (lymphnode removal), the crooks of my arms are scarred from my IV drips and I have a round scar on my left upper thigh. 10. Thank you for the answer to my ask. :) I could imagine that most people don't have a shipping problem with Brienne and Jaime, because in their relationship you often get the impression Brienne is the more grown up one, and the one who ends up inspiring Jaime, not the other way round. There is something ageless about Brienne, at least for me when I first read the books. I can't find information on Gwen's age, but I'd say she's a good bit older than Brienne, and that still works well for her.
Oh, yes, Brienne is almost certainly more emotionally mature than Jaime, who often strikes me as being stuck as the 17-year-old he was when he killed Aerys. (A Song of Emotionally Stunted Man-Children and Women With Sense, my favorite book series.) Though he does start to grow up quickly once he loses his hand/who he thought he was.
But I also think a lot of people just don't realize how young Brienne is. It shouldn't come as that much of a surprise, not with Robb being a king at 15 and Jon LC at 17, not to mention all of Dany's story. But if ages aren't called out specifically in the books, people don't do the math and will tend to assume older. (I've seen book readers think Sandor's in his 50s, which is bizarre. He's 27 in AGOT, 5 years younger than Jaime, 3 years older than Tyrion. Hell, most people don't realize Tyrion's in his mid-20s, for that matter.) And of course the show casting doesn't help in this assumption, though I honestly don't mind much. (I think the Cat fans -- who know she's 35 -- mind slightly more than me, though.)
Gwen... per this article, she was living with a boyfriend in 2002, so I'd guess late 20s at youngest. (I don't at all blame her for not putting her exact age out there, Hollywood is vicious.) But yeah, her age doesn't matter, she's a lovely, perfect Brienne who puts the doubters to shame.

Sure! I used the wiki as well, but if you ever want to research on your own, there’s a bunch of book sources for both Brienne and Jaime.
First of all, basic dates: the AGOT appendix places Aerys’ death (and thus the end of Robert’s Rebellion) in 283 AL. It’s stated multiple times in AGOT that the Rebellion was 15 years prior, which sets that book in 298. The end of ASOS (and most of AFFC/ADWD) takes place during 300 AL; the turn of the century/new year is a major event, is when Joff’s wedding is set, etc.
Jaime, we know, was 17 when he killed Aerys. That sets his birth in 266, and makes him 33 during ACOK and the early chapters of ASOS, 34 during AFFC.
Brienne’s age is never exactly stated, but can be extrapolated from other ages and this AFFC quote: “She had loved [Renly Baratheon] since first he came to Tarth on his leisurely lord’s progress, to mark his coming of age…. She had been no older than Sansa, more afraid of sniggers than of swords.” This places Brienne as 13 (or slightly younger) when Renly was 16. Renly is stated to be 21 in ACOK, which places his birth in 278 and Brienne’s in 281. (The wiki says 282, but I’m not sure where they got that date.)
Thus, Brienne is 18 (possibly 17) when she totally smashes all those knights at Bitterbridge, 18/19 during AFFC. And note there’s a 15- or 16-year age difference between her and Jaime. Which of course hardly anyone notices or cares about or mentions or ever brings up as a reason not to ship them.
(as opposed to another 16-year age difference that after a 5-year gap would place a somewhat different couple at 18 and 34, but nooo we couldn’t have that…)
The pair we play with the most is my bounty hunter Irada and her sith warrior Kal'Taeyan. It's with them we first decided to RP in the chat box. They have such a weird relationship. Poor Taeyan started out all hating the Empire and shit, but is slowly going a little batshit insane with power and the dark side. Irada normally just heckles her a bit, but otherwise just kinda sits back and lets her be demented. Taeyan has recently turned from admiring Irada's prowess to stating borderline flirtatious remarks, however, and Irada basically cannot compute. Poor retarded bb.

As I've mentioned before, seraveline and I play several pairs together. One of the more amusing ones is when we do our smuggler/trooper runthrough, where we play them as cousins. My Kabela is all about the credits and snagging whatever loot she can, and poor suffering law-abiding Loreen constantly has to reign her in when she gets overenthusiastic. XDD
