You need small amounts of yarn in the appropriate colors, a crochet hook, polyfill stuffing, craft eyes, scissors, and a tapestry needle. A stitch marker is useful, too, to keep track of the end of each round. Hook size and yarn weight don’t matter, just use the same size/weight for everything. Everything is crocheted in rounds. Do NOT join at the end of each round.

So the base bunny pattern goes like this:

Body: Rnd 1: 6sc in magic ring (6). Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around (12). Rnd 3: (sc, 2sc in next st) around (18). Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next st) around (24). Rnd 5-13: sc around (24). Rnd 14: Working in back loops only, (sc in next 2 sts, dec) around (18). Pause here to position craft eyes and fill body with stuffing. Rnd 15: (sc, dec) around (12). Rnd 16: dec around (6). Cut yarn. Using a tapestry needle, tighten final round and weave in ends.

Using yarn or embroidery thread and a tapestry needle, add nose and other desired embellishments.

For the Cap bunny, I did the first 11 rounds in blue, then rounds 12-13 in alternating red and white (two red, two white, etc), then switched back to blue for the closing rounds. I sewed on the helmet’s A and chest star using white yarn.

For the Iron bunny, the primary body color was red; staring on round 5, I worked a pattern of yellow on the "front” side of the body. (So rounds 5-7 were: 9 red, 6 yellow, 9 red. Round 8 was 10 red, 4 yellow, 10 red.) And then I added the arc reactor in light blue on rounds 12-13 (2 blues, centered under the mask -- that’s NOT going to be 11/2/11, because the rows shift slightly when you work in rounds. Eyeball it and do your best). I think if I were going to do him over again, though, I’d put the arc reactor on rows 10-11 instead so it would sit higher. I thought about sewing in eye-slits using the same yarn as the arc reactor, but my daughter thought the eyes looked cuter, so.

Ears: Rnd 1: 4sc in magic ring (4). Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around (8). Rnd 3-8: sc around (8). Finish off and cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Attach ears to sides of head, however it looks good to you. :)

For the Cap bunny, the ears are white, and angled them to take the place of his helmet wings.

For the Iron bunny, I worked rounds 1-3 in yellow and then switched to red.
