“WILL PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH SUPPLY OF MILK,” Toronto Star. April 30, 1921. Page 2. ---- Beginning Monday, May 2nd, 40 girls and 40 boys of St. Patrick's separate school will be given one quart of milk to drink each day until the end of the month. The children will be provided with a pint in the morning and a pint in the afternoon. The scheme marks the beginning of a milk test which was planned some time ago. The kiddies are in the junior first form and the senior third form. In the former the children are about eight years of age and in the latter between 11 and 12. They will be weighed, and measured at the beginning of each week and then at the end of the test when it will be determined how beneficial the milk proved. The milk is being supplied free by a Toronto dairy and the city is co-operating with the separate school officials in conducting the test. Dr Fleming of the city staff and Miss Galbraith of the separate school staff will aid in the work.
