there are moments when anxiety can get the best of him and tristan can get a little overwhelmed or stressed out. this isn’t something that he normally expresses outwardly, so this is a playlist for headphones only, one that he plays in the privacy and sanctuary of his bedroom where he can be alone and breathe. some of the songs are pretty emo, and although he does like the lyrics of each and every one of them it’s not what he’s paying attention to -- it’s the slow melody and it’s calmness that it gives him.

this playlist consists of songs that tristan really just likes in general. there is no deep meaning behind the playlist and there is a multitude of reasons as to why he likes each and every song within it. his liking of them all ranges from things such as the lyrics, the beat, the chorus, the artist in general, or even one single part that he just likes to hear over and over again. the one thing these songs do tend to do though is put him in a good mood when he plays them, so whenever he’s looking for a cheer up playlist? this is usually his go-to.

this is the playlist that tristan has to use every single time when he’s deep into his work editing pictures and trying to focus. it has a wide range of different types of song, but most of them are a little bit edgier, a bit more on the r&b/rap end and a lot more upbeat because that’s what he needs when he’s trying to get a shit ton of work done. he can’t handle his emo ass music when he is days behind on his work because it’ll just kill the flow of everything. this playlist gets him through it every single time. it’s sacred.

although it looks seemingly innocent and playful, tristan doesn’t actually listen to this playlist all that much. but it’s there and it holds a good collection of songs that his father used to play for him and his family when he was younger and growing up. he was a big fan of the oldies, and for awhile they were all tristan knew until he grew up and expanded his own interests and taste in music. the playlist is pretty sentimental, and when he does choose to play it, it’s usually the result of an off day of some sort.

there’s no real reason i included this on my list, honestly. i just really enjoy this song and i’m a big fan of owol’s vocals.

maybe it’s the beat or the tone of taemin’s voice, but this is a song that seems to really help in calming me down after a nightmare / night terror or when i’m just having a rough time. i mean, the lyrics are a little gross and too soft for my taste, but the overall feel of the song is relaxing.

07. alone tonight by jay park { xx }

it’s a pretty chill song, really, and i like the beat of it. if i had to pick a favorite jay park song, i think this would be relatively high on my list, if not tied for first place.

08. hate that i miss you by lee hae ri { xx }

because i’d really rather not get into too many details, i think of @yccnsikk every time this damn song comes on shuffle. anyway, does anyone know someone with a voice like hers ?? i’d really like to sign a talent like her.

09. a little piece of heaven by avenged sevenfold { xx }

warning: this is a pretty trigger warning heavy song. as a disgustingly morbid sack of shit, i think this is probably my all time favorite song. it’s hilarious and the video is actually kinda cute, especially the cartoon skeleton band.

this is a song jihye just ... enjoys listening to. she admires jessi’s confidence and strength, which is why she’s one of jihye’s favorite artists, but this song in particular helps her feel kinda ?? empowered, i guess ?? she prefers to listen to it pretty much always, but especially when she’s home alone cleaning or working on a painting.

02. mother to daughter by yang hee eun & akmu { xx }

the title may give it away, but she thinks of her mom whenever she hears it and it breaks her every time, without fail. which is why she can’t listen to it when other people are around, because she doesn’t like others to see her cry.

03. limbo by daddy yankee { xx }

it’s a perfect “ feel good ” song and she receives a great joy out of dancing around to it.

04. scars to your beautiful by alessia cara { xx }

jihye struggles with her confidence & self-esteem and this is a song that helps bring her out of that mindset.

05. now i know by shownu { xx }

ok ... as a monsta x stan, shownu biased, i’ve also made the same true for jihye ( bc why not ?? ). his voice is her favorite and she listens to it on the daily, multiple times throughout. of course, she also has to sing it. obnoxiously. every time.

06. just be held by casting crowns { xx }

jihye isn’t a religious person in the slightest, she prefers to consider herself more spiritual than anything, but this song makes her feel less ... alone. especially when she hits a rough patch or falls off her game --- it assures her that things will get better because she always has people watching over her ( her mom included )

07. he like that by fifth harmony { xx }

also a song she enjoys listening to because it makes her feel “ bad ”. she’s also a huge fan of the vocals and singing along; like she does with most songs by the group.

08. man in the mirror by michael jackson { xx }

this is her dad’s favorite michael jackson song ( she’s also told it was the same for her mother ), so she grew up listening to it a lot. she also loves, and stands by, the whole message that’s being told through the song.

09. ride me by jay park { xx }

honestly ... jihye is very guilty of listening to toN S of no pants dance songs, but this one is her favorite at the moment. tho, there’s no telling what it will be next few days or the week after considering she changes favorite songs almost as often as she changes her bed sheets ( which she changes every other day )

10. a little more time on you by nsync { xx }

sehyun’s playlist is one of songs i feel like he would put together just to listen to; with the exception of the last song that has just been serving me a lot of hyun muse lately. while i feel like he makes quite a bit of playlists on spotify and such, ‘ lounging ’ is likely his most played one; where he plays everywhere. why is it called lounging ? sehyun is lazy with playlist titles.
