I think we feel as much and in intense ways. How emotional is WAR? Men are extremely emotional creatures. I know I am. What I find is society doesn’t provide a space for masculine emotion. I feel afraid of love, hurt, regret, sadness.....etc deeply. I suppose I shouldn’t expect anyone to speak up for or hold space that I don’t hold for myself first. So this isn’t an admonishment of society but a declaration of intent. I will feel all of my emotions and I will LEARN to express then in ways that educate the world how to treat me. We’ve seen things so black and white for so long there is major work to be done. “If he’s sensitive he’s weak, if he’s strong he’s silent...” bullshit. My sensitivity will help me tap into your movements and beat you to a punch kick or throw actually. It helps me read people. My strength is found in my ability to feel fully without flinching not deflecting. Just saying...help a nigga get softer, we are more powerful that way. Don’t pile shit on us and expect us to be ok.
