my favorite character and why: madoka kaname, my cinnamon roll too good and pure for this world. she’s kind, she has a subtle but wonderfully written character arc where she learns from the actions of those around her, and she shows that YES! you CAN rock the frilly pink dress and be kind and ALSO very powerful.
my least favorite character and why: n/a. i guess kyuubey but even then he’s too well-written of a character for me to completely hate him.
a character i like that everyone else seems to dislike and why: uhh... kyousuke? granted, he isn’t my favorite character but i feel like a lot of the hate he gets is undeserved because of two things. firstly, as much as i love sayaka she isn’t entitled to his feelings for her. secondly, he didn’t know a thing about sayaka’s wish saving him which is why he was “ungrateful”!!! gghghghg
a character i dislike that everyone else seems to like and why: n/a, i like basically all of the characters.
my otp and why: madosaya. the TENDERNESS, the princess-and-knight aesthetic, the childhood friends to lovers trope... its the whole package for my favorite ship dynamic...
my brotp and why: mami and nagisa platonically. it’s just (chef’s kiss) mami has someone to be friends with and nagisa has a big sister figure to look out for her. they are so GOOD platonically.
my notp and why: nagisa with any of the main five girls romantically. the age gap is just squicky.
something positive about this fandom: it has some very smart and very observant people who are able to dissect a lot of the scenes in the show and movies to talk about the potential symbolism and analysis.
