We wonāt be alone

You have changed, Hashirama.
Madara had acquired the powers that others might consider befitting of a deity. He possessed the might to make men tremble and throw themselves upon the ground, begging for mercy. He could reshape the world with a strike of a sword.
And yet, it was a single, softly spoken sentence of disappointment that saved his life.
Not that the man himself knew it yet. The last memories heād have upon waking would be the sword piercing his chest. Impaled by Hashirama, for a duty to something they once dreamed of together.
Madara had been in deathās slithering embrace when Hashirama made his decision to save him; the river and the afterlife would not claim Madara tonight.
Exhausted from their battle, it had been a much slower healing process, but not one Hashirama was likely to fail. Heād fished Madara from the river, healed his pierced heart, and sat down with his former best friend draped across his legs, at the shore of the river that had born witness to their final clash.
He stayed there, for what felt like half an eternity, until the sun rose and some of his strength returned. Besides Madara, thereād been a bijuu on the loose, even if the Kyuubi had been contained by his mokuton for the entire duration of the final battle. Hashirama would have to deal with it too, and he supposed on that account, he would return to Konoha and conscript some help, but he had to take care of Madara first.Ā
So, after reinforcing the bonds on the Kyuubi, holding it in place still with the might of the forest, he brought Madara from the scene of their battle. The constructed cabin rested high up, under the canopy of a giant tree. It would have to be the make-shift shelter for now. Masking Madaraās chakra was the second step, and it truly drained the last of Hashiramaās energy. He wanted to sleep for a month, his mind too full and yet empty.
He left Madara there, under the unseen watch of the trees, hidden from sensors, hidden from the world.
āIāll return for you,ā he promised the unconscious man, before disappearing into the forest.
