Birago Diop 1906–1989 was a #senegalese poet and storyteller whose work restored general interest in African folktales and promoted him to one of the most outstanding African francophone writers. This is not the whole poem. The whole poem is very long. I could not fit it on this image I created for the poem. I put it on a Kemet image because I realize the spiritual concepts of the poem are similar to spiritual beliefs from Kemet. I am so deeply moved by this poem I can feel my eyes water and my heart throb every time I read it.
