Kirishima didn't get to U.A.

His insecurities about his quirk were the main reason, so he gives up the idea of being a hero and decides to be something else: a teacher.

Mina recognized him from elementary school when she was at the grocery store and they start talking again.

They became friends and she introduced him to the rest of 1-A because she knew they'd get along.

The relationship between him and Bakugou is basically the same as in the anime and manga but they obviously see each other way less. They also spar from time to time because "Hair-for-brains is a good punching bag", according to Katsuki.

Bakugou and Kirishima end up in a huge argument at their last years of High School. After they both graduate, Katsuki moves to another part of Japan to work as a prohero and Eijirou stays in Musutafu studying to be a kindergarten teacher.

The majority of Class 1-A lost contact with Bakugou after a year he was gone, except for Izuku, Ochako and Shouto. Katsuki only answers to their messages, sometimes to Ashido's and Denki's too.

He's back after eight years with a beautiful 4-year-old girl called Hotaru.

Only his family, Izuku, Ochako and Shouto knew about her. Denki ends up finding out and tells the whole class.

He adopted Hotaru after she was left in front of his door one night. She was inside a box with some blankets, a dolphin plushie and a note that said "Please look after her, Ground Zero".

Despite being adopted, she looks a lot like Bakugou. Ash-blonde and kind of a rebel. The only different thing from him is her emerald eyes.

Her quirk allows her to control and grow plants. She can also increase a flower's scent, using it as aromatherapy. She has to get the hang on how to do that, tho.

A day or two after the news of Bakugou's daughter and them coming back to Musutafu, his old classmates convince him to let them visit the apartment because they wanted to meet Hotaru. And, of course, catch up with Katsuki.

At that little "welcome party", they talk about a bunch of things. Hero work, updates on their lives, Hotaru, old classmates who moved to other parts of Japan... and, of course, Kirishima.

"So," Bakugou sat next to Mina with a beer in his hand, the rest of his old classmates talking and laughing with Hotaru at his living room. He didn't want to ask when everyone was hearing him, so it was a good thing they were distracted now. "...how's Hair-for-brains?"

"You mean Eijirou?" Ashido turned her head to look at him, brows slightly furrowed.

"You know I do"

"Well, he's great! He's been working at an institution not far from U.A. for years and he's teaching and taking care of kids there. I've heard a lot of parents being hella happy with the care and attention he gives the kids! And..." Mina kept talking about the institution and Kirishima, but all Katsuki heard was a muffled voice. A kindergarten near to U.A.? Could it be...?

"You're not talking about Aldera Junior High, are you?"

"Yeah, that's the one!" Katsuki's face must have totally decomposed after hearing that, because Mina's happy expression morphed into a worried one. "You okay, Bakugou?"

"Hotaru is starting there on Monday... I don't want to face him, Mina" Katsuki looked down at his bare feet and scratched the back of his neck, a soft shudder spreading from his back to the rest of his body when Ashido softly put her hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, it's something that would've happened sooner or later. You know he won't force you to talk, but he'll be there when you are ready to... after all, Kirishima is still the same sunshine he have always been"

They leave it there, and the Kirishima "situation" is not brought up for the rest of the night. They knew something bad happened between them, but not exactly what. They were still terrified to ask, tho.

That Monday Bakugou enters the building just because Hotaru pulls him inside, the girl being excited to meet her classmates. They end up asking the receptionist where the class was, following the woman's instructions to get there.

When they were in front of the door, both of them needed a minute. Hotaru because the nerves caught up to her. Bakugou... because he didn't even know what to expect after knocking on the door. He ends up shaking his head and doing it anyways.

He definitely was not ready to see Kirishima smiling brightly at him.

The guy was older, in a hella good way. He now lets his black roots grow and only dyes the ends red, some scars decorating his tan skin. He was a bit taller now, his body buffer than the last time Katsuki saw him. Was Bakugou staring? Absolutely. Did he notice? Fuck no.

But Kirishima was too busy telling a kid not to make toys float to even notice Bakugou's stare.

"Sorry about that" He turned back to the ash-blondes, smiling. "I was told a new girl was joining us today, but no one warned me she was such a cutie!" Hotaru's cheeks turned red, and she hugged his dolphin plushie tighter. Kirishima laughed, kneeling down to be at the girl's height. "What's your name?"

"Hotaru Bakugou..." She answered shyly, which Kirishima found adorable.

"Well, it's a pleasure meeting you, Hotaru! My name's Eijirou. I really hope you like it here!" Kirishima smiled at the girl, noticing a small hand on his arm. He turned to see one of his kids next to him. "Yes, Kaito?"

"Is she new?" Eijirou nodded when the little boy pointed at Hotaru, and he turned to her. "Do you want to play with me and Jun? We're playing with plushies!" She turned to Katsuki with a smile, and he nodded.

"Yeah, you can go" Hotaru quickly hugged his leg and entered the classroom, following the other boy to the area where the toys and plushies were scattered around. Kirishima stood up, smiling softly while looking at the girl.

"She's beautiful..."

"Yeah, because you just met her. Wait until she gets comfortable, then she'll be a goddamn demon" Eijirou chuckled, turning to the blonde beside him.

"She's your daughter after all. It'd be too easy if she was as calm and quiet as someone like Shouto, for example" Bakugou huffed a laugh, noticing Kirishima walking to his desk. "C'mon, let's talk for a bit"

They talk about Hotaru at first, Kirishima asking some questions about her and her quirk. After that, he asks a bit about Bakugou. How he's been, work, that stuff.

They don't talk about what happened. Kirishima obviously wanted to bring it up and apologize, but that wasn't the time or place to do it. So, after talking for about twenty minutes, Katsuki says he should go and lets Eijirou walk him to the door. They say goodbye to each other awkwardly, and Bakugou can't help but swear under his breath when the door finally closes.

Things don't change that much after that. Bakugou appearing more often in TV turned into a common thing for Kirishima. Watching him saving people and helping was something he always loved. And now, the blonde was way different than before. He reduced the "fuck"s a 90 percent (because he has to be an example for his daughter, of course), he was way calmer and even allowed himself to smile more. A lot more.

Katsuki decided to invite Kirishima over one night to talk. Tears were shed, mostly from Kirishima. But those weren't sad tears, they were happy ones. Because they talked and put an end to something that hurt both of them. And the weight on Bakugou's and Kirishima's shoulders finally disappeared. Finally.

Having Bakugou stay in the classroom after bringing Hotaru turned into a habit, and Kirishima couldn't be happier while watching him interact with the little kids and laugh openly when some of them told Katsuki they'd be great heroes just like him.

He even offered to help with security every time Kirishima took the kids out to a park or did some other activity with them outside Aldera Junior High.
