A Handy Guide to Doll Selling: Could someone still get this item, new, for less than/close to your price? Are you openly charging PP fees? Asking for friends & family payments? Did you only include one photo that proves nothing/doesn't show the whole thing? Are your photos all broken? Are you charging $200 for a custom faceup you won't wipe? Is it a weird hybrid you won't split? Are you charging way more than any other of this item previously sold? Then congrats, you're doing it wrong.

One of the best things I ever started doing was outlining terms in Paypal invoices. I write up things like 'item description, how it's being shipped, whether or not layaway payments are refundable,' etc and I mention "by agreeing to pay this I (the buyer) agree to the terms above". I'm not sure if it holds up with actual Paypal terms, but it definitely helps as an added reminder to buyers so they don't get confused or forget any info!

if you're trying to sell your $500 doll, please at least take some flattering photos of it. if your photos make her look like something you fished out of a thrift store that probably isn't going to help your cause.

If you are going to post a sales photo, please use proper lighting that show all details, dont use photoshop unless its to balance the lighting, and for fucks sake dont try to make a sales photo an artsy photo filled with shadows and blurring! Im so sick of these sellers that cry fowl when the buyer is understandably dissatisfied when they get their doll that looks nothing like the sales photo. Be honest and show what the doll actually looks like, instead of bitching to your "fans".

sellers who are all like "I don't require insurance, buyer understands the risk", you do know paypal will always side with buyers if the item arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all, right? insurance is to protect the seller not buyer.
