#selious

I got an art prompt from a friend. "Your characters in a situation that they never thought they'd be in and it's the smart one's fault." Sely/Mik is very smart, but that doesn't mean he doesn't mess up on occasion. Of course, he's immediately called out by his besties.

Finished piece! Here is my Selious in his true, humanoid form. He's a deeply troubled young man who really needs to chill lol. He's pretty ashamed of this form and uses shifting to hide and alter his image to look more like a human. No tentacles, featherbutt, tails, horns, or weird facial features. Even though he is more powerful like this, he only becomes this when he loses control of his emotions which is one of the things he hates most. Usually he is unemotional and stoic, but on the inside he is more of a falsely subdued, just-beneath-the-surface torrential storm of emotions that confuses and disturb him. On the surface of the ocean, he seems calm. Deep beneath, there are torrents. AKA, he's emotionally constipated lol. I had fun with the coloring and shading! I'm still trying to practice that super messy, uncaring coloring style but I feel I have a long way to go when it comes to more deliberate strokes of color. I also want to focus on art that tells more of a story about the character. I'm unsure if this succeeds, but I feel something is missing...and that's fine, on to the next attempt!

WIP of one of my ocs :) Selious, one of the oldest characters I've had from a story I've been creating for a very long time.

A reference sheet of my character Selious in his 3rd arc. NGL, not sure if this will be canon or not to the story. It’s mostly a more private story I’ve only shared between myself and friends. Almost like... a fan fiction of my own story. 😂 Anyone else ever have this happen?

I am so very proud of these! I tried out using a more muted color palette and style and really enjoyed this :) These are my characters Onivale (left, the moon) and Selious (right, the sun). They are a personal species of mine and are the main characters in a novel I'm writing. They truly are a duality. Onivale is dark and wild like the moon, determined, raw, instinctive. Selious is bright like the sun, intelligent, devouring knowledge, ambitious. Together they work well together to achieve their goals and their fates are ever entangled with one another. They have a very tarot-card feel to them :)

Wip #2 :>

Another experimentation in Kuretake stuff. Within the space hair it is gel pens. The ink is Kuretake’s #24 ink brush pen, the gold, silver, and blue and outside stars of the hair are their glitter brush pens. They shine if you move the paper. Overall, I enjoy this one a lot. :) Slowly but surely getting used to those ink pens.
