Sitting on a park bench is apparently all Steve needed in order to cause his thoughts to wander. Then there’s the company he managed to make shortly after sitting down. Being nice enough to listen and talk. Although there’s a good chance that might be largely due in part to his title. Which is what initially jump starts the conversation. Defeating Thanos and what he’s going to do next.
❝I wouldn’t know where to start.❞ Maybe it is time. To pass on the mantle of Captain America and live the rest of his life as Steve Rogers. It’s such a foreign thought, though. Since picking up the shield he imagined he’d take his last dying breath in a fight. This is not where he saw himself in the future, especially not this far. But he saw what happened to Tony. He died. He had a wife and daughter he left behind in order to defeat Thanos. To save the world. But that’s the real question. If he ultimately chooses to make the decision and step down, will he be able to idly stand by as a new enemy arrives to Earth? Will he be able to live with his decision afterwards? There’s a good chance he may not know the answer until that day arrives. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.
