february reflections
february tends to be a month focused on love&relationships. but this year, I used this past month to focus on selflove &my relationship with myself. I recently saw this idea to ask people close to you ~ if you could come to me for one piece of advice, what would you come to me for? ~ doing this, in a way, highlights our purpose in life &even more so things to love about ourselves. so I wanted to try this out. & I asked the people in my life that question.. “if you were to come to me for help, what would it be for?”
the responses I got were all over the place. &I wanted to share w/ you a few of the things my friends&fam had to say. many unexpected, all oh so uplifting.
~ i’d get advice about balance. you seem to be good about getting all your responsibilities taken care of &still maintaining some semblance of a life. that’s a really admirable trait.
~you have always had the best sense of fashion&decorating.
~you have a special skill at picking gifts for people. you take the time to listen to them &understand their likes, dislikes &even needs. not everyone can claim to be a good listener &you are special at that.
~ advice on where to drink in vegas ... baking ideas ... fashion
~ you really motivated me; your work ethic & intelligence inspire me, & you are my hero!
from this experience, I learned how even when my //silly thoughts// convince me i am worthless&unloved, I am in fact *valued* by the people around me. &guess what poppyseeds, i am no unicorn. you are valued &loved by the ones around you too. don’t believe me? I dare ya to try this exercise out for yourself &watch your confidence bloom.
