100 days of Productivity

Day 02/100

Hello there! So I’ve finally decided to do an introduction to this studyblr. 

To begin, my name is Yessica but my nickname since childhood has always been Yessie, hence studyessie. I’m currently 16 years old and an incoming high school junior. However, thanks to a dual credit program at my school, I have the opportunity to attend my local community college and achieve my associates degree and high school diploma coming out of high school.

So apart from school, who am I? Well here’s the basics:

I’m a kpop lover

Don’t trust me with money bc I’ll spend it in a heartbeat

ARMY FOR LIFE

I love planning and thinking about the 5w’s we were taught in like 2nd grade and basically all things organization

I play piano

I love drawing

Jimin is my ult. bias

I love calligraphy

I’m extraordinarily great at procrastinating

I really want to get into graphic design and video editing

I want to be a criminal defense attorney

I’m planning on majoring in political science or criminal justice

Yoo how! What’s up? The name’s Stephanie, but on the internet I go by Peachy. I was born in Jakarta at March 29th 2001. And at the time when this intro was written, I just turned 19 a few days ago (yay, www)

Like any other kid, my childhood was pretty normal. I was raised in a household with 3 people, which consists of my Papa and my Mama. By the way I’m an only child. People would say this is an advantage, and in some ways, it is. But on most times, i felt pretty lonely at home. And as a result, i would turn that loneliness into gaming, watching anime and reading manga at a really young age.

Why animanga and gaming, you might ask? well that’s simply because my Dad is a weeb (probably more of an otaku than I am) He collects manga, owns a lot of anime dvds on his collection and back then when we still have PS1 and PS2, we’d play games like Persona, Kingdom Hearts,a few of the Final Fantasy series, and probably my favorite growing up, the original Devil May Cry on PS2 (It was insanely addictive and after this I’m going to continue playing the 5th installment of the series)

The anime that I watch at that time are heavily influenced by my Dad’s taste. I started watching series like Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Neon Genesis Evangelion (oomf heavy. i know. My Dad told to watch Eva when i’m old enough but i watched it secretly. Safe to say, I’m pretty traumatized by the ending. Lesson learned, listen to your folks), Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Gundam Wing and a lot more. But then as I got more into this, I wanted to know more about the wonders of anime and manga. So I decided to watch titles like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura and a lot of more Anime ‘for girls’ (we call this Shoujo, fyi). And as for Mangas? I only read a few titles. Most of them are from the Animes I’ve already mentioned.

At school i can never blend in with the crowd. I was pretty much a loner. The only few people who wanted to be friends with me are the people who needed friends to hype about animes. And of course, the stigma of liking anime is not very good. So i left anime for a while and not talk about anyone. (yet i secretly watch a few series, but not that intense)

From grade school to junior high, i spent my life in Depok. But I wanted to have a change of scenery. So I told my parents that I wanted to go to Jakarta for high school. They said yes, but on one condition… and that is to go to an all girls high school.

“WHAT??!!!!”

Yes. That was the condition. I was against it at first but looking at the school’s legacy, I feel like this could be my gateway to adulthood. So, I said to myself that you’re going to do this and you’re going to change your life here.

And so I did. Next thing I knew, I’m officially a student at Tarakanita 1 High School. Life in highschool is completely different than what i know from grade school and junior high. I found people that I consider my ride or die girls, people that like me for who I am and nobody would ever say bad things just because you like anime (cause deep down we girls love our 2D boys too       ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ﾉ⌒♡*:･)

Then high school ended and I got accepted to Universitas Indonesia. This is a new challenge for me because i’ve never been to a public school before, let alone a public university where there are thousands of people coming in from all across the nation. Adapting was hard, believe me. But I manage to survived 2 semesters. And that’s something that i’m thankful for.
