So today I have been getting my mind around curves and paper piecing...... or...... mostly not getting my head round curves 😂 😫 I may have been a little ambitious in my choice of inspiration but this vase by Werner Burri is just crying out to be pieced (well it seemed like a good idea 💡) it has been a challenging day and the seam ripper has seen A LOT of action today. I was trying to find advice on precisely piecing curves, there's a lot about free form improv curves but I need precision. Playing with a new pattern. I L♥️VE the tile photo function on Instagram, gives you an idea what a pattern might look like with only one block. I drew the block out on big paper, couldn't be bothered to go out and get it photocopied so just drew it out eight times 😂 . Totally inspired by @nohatsquilts Book adventures in paper piecing and design. I love the block, but it has certain problems. There are ALOT of bits of fabric meeting and extremely bulky seams where they meet.....but as a start I I'm pleased 😁. I will think about it a bit more ...... Last night I was lying in bed thinking 💭🤔about a completely different pattern, so that's what I'm doing today!
