I am absolutely loving your open window series! It's so pretty, and so are your other creations! ✨
Thanks so much I really appreciate the compliment!!
thanks for the reply! do you have a favorite pan set? i'm not too fond of the one i've been using.
I just got a Sakura Koi sketch set about a month ago that I really love but it cost me around $20US ( I also highly recommend their water brushes if you are on the go a lot, their sketch sets come with one but you can buy them individually for about $8US).
The only problem I’ve had with this set is the Prussian blue seems to be prone to drying with a hard edge that bugs me to death and that again the pans are rather small if you plan on doing large washes and pieces.
I also highly recommend these. They were the ones that got me into doing traditional art again. They work really well for how cheap they are. Really beautiful colors and there is actually a set that has bigger pans for large washes (less colors than the linked set for a little more though).
However if you layer a lot of paint on paper that isn’t specifically for watercolor it can become chalky and smear slightly. So they aren’t exactly archival but they work fine if your scanning/photographing your pieces for online sites and print making. I also recommend buying them in-store at Micheal’s just because they go for about $8-9US instead of $11. (I think a lot of people use these as well because I keep recognizing them in popular art posts)
In my experience coarse salt is better for water color!
Thank You!!!
