okay alright yes maybe children should have something to work toward, but competitive selective enrollment schools really are terrible because there are the good selective enrollment schools that not a lot of kids can even get into, then there are the okay selective enrollment schools that are literally FULL OF BLACK STUDENTS.
selective enrollment is a really bad system because it makes kids worry so much about just getting into a high school. this is not something that exists outside of chicago, and it is something that really puts way too much stress on really young people.Â
