1) Maybe this is a cop-out answer because I’m essentially saying “I like that I like things!” but I will say this anyway: I like my “obsessive” nature when it comes to the things that I like - I mean, being an obsessive person has a lot of drawbacks, but I’m glad I am capable of being “obsessed” because in my obsessions, I also find my passions. Being obsessed about books/movies/video games/TV shows/music has also fueled the fire for some pretty heated discussions and debates, which I always enjoy. :)

2) I like that I don’t let success get to my head - I do not consider myself humble, but I also do not consider myself to be conceited. I am never satisfied with myself, which is good because it means I’m constantly struggling to be better, whether it means being a more hard-working and open-minded student or a more caring and compassionate human being.

3) I like my ability to be easy inspired - All it takes is a brief glance at a really awesome piece of art to inspire me to draw, write, or practice piano.

4) I like my drive to be passionate - I don’t think I’ve found my “passion” in life, but I don’t believe that people can only be passionate about one thing. You can be passionate about a lot of very specific things or even moments in life, and I like my ability to accept that one person’s definition of “passion” is different from another person’s, and whatever happens in life, I will always desperately search for ways in which to be “passionate,” to actually truly and legitimately care and believe in something or someone or some moment. I like my fear of apathy and indifference, and I like wanting to feel alive. I like wanting to feel euphoria.

5) I like that I am composed of other people - When I’m around another person for even a short period of time, I unconsciously mimic their particular mannerisms and speech patterns until it reaches a point where I can feel myself changing as a person, and I begin to recognize who influenced me and in what ways. I am not a whole person without other people, and I like feeling connected to others, even if I’m only performing the imprints and ghosts of the people I’ve “absorbed” throughout my life. It feels like I’m capturing a person in a particular moment; it is a memory of our interactions, an affirmation of our mutual existences, and a testament to our relationship: that it happened, that we met and talked and communicated, and that we hopefully loved and laughed and cried together.
