Trump ‘hires the best’ — of the worst. Context as to why.

Alan Dershowitz and Ken Starr were lawyers for child sex trafficker and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.  

Dershowitz represented Epstein in 2008 and had no regrets. 

Esptein ultimately pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from minors - sentenced to only 18 months in prison.

“In 2014, one of Mr. Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre, said in a court filing that Mr. Dershowitz was one of the Epstein friends to whom she was offered for sex.“

Starr represented Epstein in 2019.  

Dershowitz recommended Starr. Dershowitz also worked on the case.

Starr got a plea deal in Epstein’s “statutory rape of numerous underage high school students” case

President Trump plans to add former independent counsel Ken Starr and the celebrity lawyer Alan Dershowitz to his defense team for  the Senate impeachment trial that gets underway in earnest next week, turning to two veterans of politically charged legal cases to secure his acquittal.

Mr. Starr, whose investigation into President Bill Clinton led to his impeachment for perjury and obstruction of justice in 1998, will be joined by Robert W. Ray, his successor as independent counsel who negotiated a final settlement with Mr. Clinton that included a fine and law license suspension, according to a person briefed on the plan.

Self-righteous Republican hypocrisy has no shame. Ken Starr’s investigation was about the Clinton’s Whitewater scandal. BUT when he couldn’t find any evidence (unlike Ukrainegate) he continued his Witch Hunt until he had Clinton impeached for lying about having sex with his intern. 

Now Starr has the gull to say this.

“For the sake of the country, fulminate, but don’t go forward with impeachment. It’s so bad for the country,”  Ken Starr told Fox News host Ed Henry

Sekulow has now made two provable lies in front of the Senate and the Chief Justice. Those are actionable.
