#seethesigns @beyondtype1 I had 3 signs: excessive thirst, frequent urination (including wetting the bed), fruity breath; I believe there may have been others as well, such as blurry or double vision but those were the big ones. It was 1989 & I was 5 years old (going on 6) & my parents didn’t know there was something wrong. I was fortunate to have needed a physical to start kindergarten & he noticed something wasn’t right & checked my urine which was full of glucose & ketones. #birthdayselfie 21 years ago I came to #London to stay, young and full of life, to seek new adventures. But in reality I was trying to escape from my failure of a life, to hide somewhere really far away from the disappointment I had become. Many a time I wished everything to end and I lived dangerously for several years, depression and suicidal thoughts disguised as amusing recklessness. I festered on my pain and kept poisoning myself in a vicious circle. If I am still here, it would be only because I didn't want to hurt my loved ones after I'd gone.
