claire smiles up to leon after the presentation is done, feeling pretty proud of what her and neil accomplished . after she did a brief introduction between the two of them and neil excused himself to mingle more. “so what did you think of him?” she questions with a smile. >:) // @seeksbrother

leon  liked  claire.  a  lot  --  or  more  than  he  was  telling  himself.  at  least  enough  to  go  to  these  terrasave  presentations.  not  that  his  own  opinion  really  matters,  but  he'll  sit  through  anything  if  it  meant  he  got  to  spend  more  time  with  his  favorite  redhead.

but...  this  time  was  different.  maybe  he  hadn't  really  paid  enough  attention  to  these  things  before,  but  --  he  hadn't  really  remembered  this  neil  guy  or  WHOEVER  this  way.  what  wasn't  ignorable  was  this  chemistry  between  them...  and  even  if  claire  wouldn't  outright  say  anything  about  it  ;  she  didn't  need  to.

after  a  fake  smile  and  a  handshake,  he  watches  neil  walk  off  after  their  interaction.  his  grip  on  his  drink  was  held  a  bit  tighter.  man,  leon  loves  claire,  but  he  wanted  to  do  nothing  but  go  home.

It's a tradition that Chris, in all honesty, has treasured since their parents' death. Little things like this have drawn them closer and given them their own way of dealing with what he would call normal holidays. He's not sure what to expect this year, but when he sees the box of cosmic brownies he's all smiles. The handwritten letter is saved and tucked away as he does with all letters and cards she gives him. Opening one of the brownies, he's able to reflect how far they've come since the rundown old apartment he first rented for them when he pulled her out of foster care to live with him and where they were now. Remembering the time she got mad at him for trying to ground her, he chuckles as he takes a bite. He almost missed it.

his focus in completely engrossed in what he's doing. even when not at work, the wolf is steadily always preparing for the next mission. the field notes for the next one aren't completely dire and being able to actually prepare in advance is quite the miracle.

the papers are tossed back onto the coffee table as he takes a sip of his beer when @seeksbrother comes to sit beside him and places something in his free hand. it takes a moment to register what exactly it is that he's looking at and he's no idiot. he's seen these before, knows about them and knows exactly what a POSITIVE test looks like.

the sudden realization forces him to choke on the liquid and half spit it out when she finally speaks. holy shit. a flurry of emotions curses through him in an instant while the news processes in his mind. he's going to be a father. chris redfield is definitely going to kill him. this was not part of the plan. FUCK.

he's sputtering through the coughs of choking and the beer dribbling down his chin when he gets up quickly. ❝ the hell..... you're sure? you mean you're definitely one HUNDRED percent sure. . . ❞ hell the six tests in his hands should tell him all he needs to know since each test is blaring more positive than the last. ❝ fuck. ❞ what the hell are they going to do?

claire moves up to his desk, he's working hard and she knows it. but she's also being exceptionally needy at this point. who was she to deny herself. " you should pay attention to me. " she simply states, leaning forward to she could make eye contact with him, eyebrow arching. " i'm feeling neglected. "

Oh - she is not the only one to play sly games. When she finishes speaking to him, he lets a sigh pass him, reaching up to pull off those sunglasses of his, though his eyes stay closed for a moment, before flicking open, pupils widening then narrowing as orange-red eyes lock on to his target. He always has the look of a predator sizing up prey - and it is no different now. His lips curve upward slightly, easy for the untrained eye to miss - but not her.

" Tell me then - what would you have me do about that ? " His tone stays velvet smooth and perfectly calm, his gaze never once leaving her. " It sounds as if with such neglect, fantasies may come. Perhaps if you want to change how you feel, you should indulge in sharing your deepest desires with me. " He stands, moving a gloved hand to grip her chin, forcing her gaze to stay on his. Today is a day he very clearly wants to play a little.

killing  people  wasn't  exactly  how  leon  liked  to  spend his  free  time. he  hated  getting  sucked  into  these  cruel  trials,  but  --  what  choice  did  he  have  ?  the  answer  was  none. every  attempt  to  free  himself  from  this  place  or  attempt  to  aid  survivors  only  leads  to  his  body  acting  out  of  control,  reminding  him  of  the  parasite  he  was  a  host  of.

he  stares  at  claire,  eyes  on  her  like  how  a  predator  watches  their  prey. god,  it  sucked  that  she  was  here. that  all  of  them  were  here. what  a  fucking  joke  his  life  was.

if  he  was  feeling  anything,  it  was  erased  in  his  mind. his  emotions  in  a  jumble,  that  the  rage  that  flowed  through  him  from  the  plagas  was  the  only  one  that  was  present,  ❝  stay  away from  me,  claire. ❞  he  says,  voice  low  in  a  slight  growl  that  she  could  tell that  he  was  fighting  so  hard  for  consciousness.
