Jupiter 6 - Section Two (1990)
Bleep techno actually made in Manchester, and not San Diego California, as the label states.
I found an ODST pod marked “Sullivan”.
Looked to be empty, the damn thing made a crater on impact! It landed in a shed somewhere.
What do?
Somebody will come pick it up. Then, you can forget about it.
Make sure to forget about it.
Or we'll have to ensure... bad records.
Following the recent wave of anti-UNSC sentiment and demonstrations, the Office of Naval Intelligence has made a public announcement, stating "what the hell do you want me to do, the Admiralty asshats are singling out every bad move and taking it just to spite - wait, is this live?"
At this time, we are awaiting further word from ONI.
Weirdest Section Two pitch that you've heard please!
Oh boy.
Oh boy.
So, Midas here. Don't know how many of you knew this but, as the resident "PR Guy", I was actually transferred to Sec 0 a bit before they started up this blog. Prior to that, I was with Sec 2 as a team lead. And, whoo, are there some stories.
There were talks of starting up a children's channel geared towards "educating our youth on basic infiltration and counterintelligence theory in a fun and interactive manner." Shut that one down.
There was also that time when, in a meeting, a folder was put in front of me just saying "Recruitment" and the first page was headed with "Opera/Theatre". Those pages have been purged from section archives.
Or the one retraining proposal intended to familiarise civilians and non-specialised servicemen with UNSC tech. It was all well and good until the section where they tried to explain a four-stroke engine.
"Always remember, SSBB.
Your engine should Suck, Squeeze, Bang and Blow."
A wonder they managed to get that one as far as my desk.

So why is section two getting us busy on social media again? I forgot to grab a copy of the briefing
Well, apparently they wanted the public to have a more realistic and grounded view of the people working at ONI.
So I guess they just handpicked the people who were the deadest inside or something.
Something that has always bothered me my entire life is the ways in which adults act as though children can't know about sex, as if they are entirely incapable of any conversation altogether until some random time when they're a teenager, or even worse, until the night they are married.
I remember having conversations on the playground with the girls in my girl scout troupe about sex, acting as if we knew anything. We knew not to bring it up around adults, but when we were allowed to get out of hearing range of our teachers it was always a topic of conversation. As early as age 8 I remember having these conversations, and although I know now as an adult that those conversations were built off of misconceptions and extremely limited understanding, I am also extremely grateful that my friends and I were able to hold those conversations at all.
"It became clear to me that if more people were encouraged to masturbate early and often, to learn what feels good to them and that they have the right to communicate that, there would be less sexual trauma, assault, patriarchy, misogyny, and general awkwardness." (Brown, p. 118)
I have met and heard the stories of so many people, especially those from a deeply religious household, who were never given the space to have those conversations comfortably or at all and ended up being put into situations which harmed them because they couldn't identify what was happening in the moment, and didn't know how to communicate about it afterwards. This is why I am firm in my beliefs that communicating with kids from an early age about sex and intimacy is extremely important in reducing the harm that is already a reality for children everywhere.

Midas: You called for me, sir?
Director: Hey, yeah. Sec 2 asked me to come in, do you know what that's all about?
Midas: The calenders, maybe? I think the shoot's today.
Director: Calenders?
Midas: Er, yeah, the model...
Midas: I mean, the picture...
Midas: Y'know, the...
Midas: I'll get them to scrap it.
Director: You do that.
