Hey, everybody!

We just wanted to give you all a quick update about what’s happening with the roleplay!

It’s been decided that A Secret Summer is going to transition into a Closed Rp.

With becoming a closed rp, we will not have any activity stresses or character limits, etc. And if you wish to transition into multi muse blogs you’re free to do so, just keep us updated. We’d also expect to be kept updated if you’re going to be gone for months on end but honestly, the activity checks won’t be implemented because, as we all know, life moves on and changes and therefore so does the status of Baberton!

Please message into the main if you intend to stay with us and keep your roles.

Otherwise, things will pretty much continue as normal with regards to replies and stuff. The main won’t function as a place to promo the rp, it will simply be used to update members on events, follows/unfollows, plot changes etc, add characters where/if necessary, and admin updates.

Also a reminder that the plot of the roleplay will be moving towards the end of the -A story once and for all. After that, it will just be about Baberton and its residents recovering from the past years.

We hope you’ll want to continue exploring these characters and stay with us during this change but it’s also completely fine if you are done! Just please let us know :) <3

Autumn Carnival/Funfair

When: runs from 19th September until the 19th October

Where: Local park & town centre

In the park:

Shows

Rides (roller coaster, bumper cars, carousel, Ferris wheel, etc)

Face painting

Snack shacks

Games (bean bag toss, pick a duck, bobbing for apples, etc)

Prizes

Along the town centre:

Food stalls

Little huts selling a variety of items/handmade crafts/toys

Afternoon parade (Halloween themed)

Haunted House (old abandoned house set up as a haunted attraction)

Fortune Telling Booth

Feel free to be as creative as you like. Participation is not mandatory!

A temporary change to activity checks

I know a lot of people are on hiatus at the moment anyway but:

For the next three weeks, until the 10th May, we won’t be doing activity checks.

Summer Circus and Carnival

When: 15th July - 15th August

Where: The local park

Info: Opens every morning at 9 a.m. and closes every night at 11:00 p.m.

Includes all the usual things; shows, face painting, rides, snacks, games and prizes, etc. Feel free to be creative.

You don’t have to participate, as usual.

If your character is on the A Team it’s possible you will be given some tasks at some point during this event, if you are participating in the carnival. These will come through message as usual. If you’re not participating in the carnival and play an -A team member, please message us before the start of the even so we don’t send you something.

The Storm Lockdown

What: A terrible storm (thunder, lightning, rain, flooding, high winds)

When: Friday 7th June (may run for the weekend ooc for plot purposes)

Where: Various places around town, you can choose where your character has ended up. The weather has driven them into anywhere nearby to where they were at the time. Maybe someone knocked on your character’s front door or maybe you’re both stuck in a garage or the cafe together.

“We all have things that we regret, and we all have things for which we are remorseful or want to forget. The burning boat festival is our city’s time-honoured tradition of letting go and giving yourself a second chance. I think we all need those from time to time, right? So I say we take all those failures and let-downs and burdens, and let’s torch them!”

What: Burning Boat Festival When: Will run from the 1st until the 7th April

The Burning Boat Festival is an annual festival in which residents of Baberton can throw away and burn any bad memories they hold. As a symbolic way of starting fresh. Come down during this week and set your bad memories down on the boat to be burned at the end of the week in a sending off/letting go ceremony.

During the day there will be stalls selling boxes to box up your items and little bags, etc. Crafts tents. There’s also stalls selling food and drinks and little trinkets and souvenirs. This is a celebration more than anything so we’re treating it as such.

During the nights we will have a guard at the boat to prevent thefts and pranks.

It would be interesting to see people really play around with something their character(s) could bring that they want to put on the boat to burn. -A will be lurking and looking for things to steal to either blackmail or hold over someone’s head or just taunt them with. In your posts please specify if you’d like your items to not be stolen by -A!
