EYES locked onto her cousin, laelia couldn’t help but feel the beginnings of sympathy. weddings seemed stressful. she was so never getting married. but she’d certainly have to attend quite a few, with all the people in the family.

( maybe not though, come to think of it. she wasn’t sure how many of the irvine-rosen clan would be able to find someone crazy enough to sign up. )

He hadn’t really been paying much attention to the Rosen family as they’d made their entrance…he was too preoccupied with chasing the skirts of a few women he knew here. These gatherings were tedious otherwise, so he didn’t see the harm if it meant he actually showed his face.

It was with this pursuit that he entertained himself for the best part of the evening, before eventually retiring to a balcony to get some fresh air…and a cigarette. Once the stick of tobacco was alight, he drew in a lungful of smoke and exhaled it with a lengthy sigh.

It was only then that he took it upon himself to look across at the other person that occupied the balcony, a man he recognised with relative ease - and a wry smirk came to his lips.

STARING up at his cousin, dimitri nodded vigorously. perhaps he was always a bit too eager to please his cousins - but really this was something he’d have done no matter what. while his relationship with his own brother had steadily been declining since, well, birth - he felt a strong attachment to the rosen siblings. 

THEY were the only ones that really seemed to understand about his home life & not just because they’d actually met his mother, but because theirs wasn’t any better. as young as he may be, he recognized that the rosen siblings had more or less been the saving grace of his childhood. 

NODDING solemnly, dimitri did his best to convey how serious he was. freya was, perhaps, the person he was closest to in the world. the idea of anything happening to her made his stomach churn && even though he couldn’t very well push audierna down a flight of stairs for hurting her - he could definitely intervene should something happen at hogwarts.
