After covering multiple shifts at the bookstore, the manager had blessed Lon’qu with a day off. Unfortunately for him, as soon as he finished his morning workout, the day still held many hours until it was time to head to the restaurant. And what was he to do with the remainder of the day? Well, considering how he had relatively few hobbies, the young man took to the streets.Â
Absentmindedly, he wandered through the winding paths of Kairos and allowed his senses to be filled with the sights, sounds, and smells of the island. Dark eyes passed over the numerous displays in the store windows. Sights varying from couples eating in cafes to the latest gadgets on a one day sale filled his view. It took some time before one window in particular caught his attention.
Black boots halted before the antique store’s display. In the window case was a a Japanese katana. Though the age of the item was unknown to him, it was clear that the craftsmanship was superb. From the sleek, shining black of the scabbard to the fine red threads that made the ornamental charm, Lon’qu could only imagine how finely made the blade was itself. Of course, he was fairly certain that the piece was purely ornamental and so the blade would be dulled, but that made no difference.Â
In one fluid motion, the glass door to the shop was pushed open. “Shopkeeper. How much for the blade in the window case?”
