Following the creation of the realms; Yemaya was tasked with the searealm known as Pacifica.

Pacifica was once a dry barren desert realm, the inhabitants struggled for survival. Yemaya visited the realms, she saw beautiful life, and in her despair she cried, her sadness caused water to occur and the realm becoming the searealm.

The inhabitants were transformed as a result as they would be able to breathe in the water. Life started to prosper as food began to grow, and more life was created, and of course the rise of many kingdoms. Yemaya favored them learning rather than fighting as she saw no reason for life to be in conflict.

Unfortunately this realm held a dark secret, this realm had malicious dragons who were hibernating and they awoke. They were disgusted by the life that transpired, and as such sought to destroy it.

Yemaya would battle the dragons and succeeded. If they surrendered, they would have their lives, as such they accepted holding a grudge creating the Tempest Marauders a rogue team of Sea dragons. This act protected the peace in the realm.

Queen Cordelia and her consort Malik loved their goddess and the tempest Maruader pirate; Narek hated her for banishing his people. After Norah’s fall, Onaga targeted Pacifica as that realm was able to cool off the excess light energy Norah’s sun produced.

Yemaya watched in sadness as many of her realm’s people died from Onaga. Most notabaly many could not fight on land and made the tournaments very easy.

Pacifica fell and Yemaya gave her life to save many from Onaga, but not many survived. The other kingdoms in Pacifica fell, the only kingdom that survived was Atlantis with Malik being the last monarch.

Notes: Here we have another goddess to add to the roster of protector gods in MK. When I found out about the searealm in MK11 I wanted to include some settings and characters for it. So why not start with a goddess and I thought Yemaya the ocean mother from African mythology would be a great fit to represent the sea realm’s protector god. You can read some more on here as well. Naturally her theme as well fits her as well.

Theme

Originally from the islands of Pacifica, Sona is a part of a unique race of Otters called the Otari, they lived on the surface of Pacifica.

They were transformed As an indirect consequence of Yemaya’s tears transforming Pacifica. The Otari also inherited aquatic powers as well from their transformation.

After Onaga conquered the realm, Sona’s family hid and remained isolated. They would become notorious theives stealing from Outworld streets to survive and stealing artifacts.

Sona would be born before Edenia was conquered and raised in her family’s lifestyle. She was even gifted a special gift from her parents, enchanted drums from an unknown realm. The drums when used would blast musical notes at enemies in close range becoming her perfect weapon. Her family held a close bond despite being thieves.

However this wouldn’t last as her family was reported by a female Khan Guard enforcer and were killed by them. Sona never found out who did it when she barely escaped that day.

Tired and alone, she encountered the Claw of Cerveras one faithful day. Lunara showed her compassion as she joined them.

Sona enjoyed a close friendship with Gazira as she opened up to her. Sona as well described her life and what was taken from her. They even trained together as Sona taught Gazira how to use the water powers in her staff and Sona as well mastered her powers with Gazira.

Sona had feelings for Gazira However she wouldn’t act on them since Gazira was already in a relationship with a male demigod from Xaa. She would constantly support the both of them regardless and remained a loyal friend.

For many years Sona would be considered one of Gazira’s closest allies in battle. Though the battle of Armageddon costed Gazira to lose valuable allies, a breakup, and her fears came true for abandonment. Sona remained, and that was enough for Gazira to be happy.

Regardless she fights by Gazira’s side as they are both kindred spirits that were once abandoned now together as one. It remains to be seen if these two will soon realize their love for each other as time will tell…

Theme

Originating from the Searealm mostly known as Pacifica, Malik was not a king but a consort to his queen. He did his best to understand the politics of his kingdom but to no avail. Malik’s strengths heavily revolved around his hobby as an aquatic engineer; constructing vehicles based on the aquatic life.

He befriended many who traveled to the searealm, unfortunately after the deaths of the original Outworld rulers by Onaga the dragon king, dark tidings began. Onaga would challenge Pacifica to mortal kombat.

Shocked at Norah being conquered, he would do his best to help train the realm to fight, unfortunately Onaga found a loophole. They would need to fight on the surface not on water. This was the downfall as Pacifica was lost and Outworld had succeeded.

Malik watched in horror as Onaga and his forces wiped out life from his realm. His protector goddess Yemaya and his wife Cordelia would save as many as possible but they were overwhelmed.

Malik himself was powerless to save his beloved from dying as she urged him to run away. Malik escaped after seeing both Yemaya and Cordelia dying at the hands of Onaga. He felt ashamed that he was not a strong leader, relied to much on his queen, not taking action.

All those who survived the realm merger hid in the oceans with Onaga having no use for them. Onaga took many blueprints away which led to the invention of the Dragonfly vechicles.

Shao Khan himself believed the realm was extinct. Even after he overthrew Onaga, he saw no sign of life nor did he care about any survivors. It was not until the merge of Edenia where an evolved dolphin known as Riptide was lost at sea and saved by the searealmers. Riptide would meet Malik and together they would teach the searealmers how to fight and encourage Malik to be a leader.

Luckily Riptide was a friend of Zebron’s and Reminded him that the searealmers never left his side, Malik gave Riptide a potion to transform his tail fins into legs and they would practice how to fight on land. Even when Edenia was unmerged and Riptide was transported back, Malik would redeem himself and be a true leader. Emerging from the waters and aid against the enemies, with the hope of one day freeing his realm.

Though little does he know that Onaga is planning his return. Malik will take action this time no longer a coward but a true leader and king his people deserved.

Notes: Similar to Leila, Malik is my representative for the realm of Pacifica. I don’t think I mentioned he has two forms his land form and sea form. Something to play around with for his character.

Theme

The leader of the Tempest Maruaders, an evil pirate clan from the searealm. Their ancestors were sea dragons and worked closely with their protector goddess. Establishing the kingdoms such as Atlantis where Malik and Cordelia ruled, Aquaria, and Thalassara. Unfortunately they wanted to learn more about how to obtain more power, they wanted riches, valuables, and conquest.

They wanted to bring fear to other kingdoms, to prove their dominance and worth. As such they were banished to the depths of the realm filled with unspeakable creatures. Narek was born years later as a descendant. He battled many of these creatures wanting nothing more to take revenge on his realm.

Gathering many resources he decided it’s time to make his move as they scavenged the depths for technologies, they even created a device to communicate with the creatures. They would escape and start attacking kingdoms, many of the kingdoms were attacked due to the strongest champions were competing to protect the realm from Onaga.

Narek and some of his forces survived the invasion and decided to live among Outworld becoming pirates. He would attack towns forming enemies with about everyone. If they are not part of his crew, they are his enemies.

Narek soon found out about Malik’s survival of Pacifica’s conquest and seeks to locate him. Narek will not rest until Malik is killed as he blames him for the banishment of his people and the endangerment of Pacifica.

Notes: This rounds out my cast for the Searealm also known as Pacifica I feel this is a decent amount to introduce for this realm.

Theme
