          “    has  your  recovery  been  going  well,   sugisaki-san?    ”   finding  information  on  her  location  was  hardly  difficult:   a  hospital,   hosting  a  girl  whose  life  had  been  spent  so  long  in  those  walls.  it’s  by  ryoken’s  suggestion   ( a  command,   really )   that  he  visits   —   ‘check  on  the  victims  of  the  lost  incident,   see  if  they’re  okay.’   perhaps  it’s  because  of  a  distinct  lack  of  anything  else  to  do  that  he  listens  gladly.   “    i  apologize  for  my  sudden  visit,   especially  from  a  stranger,  no  less.    ”   as  he  closes  the  door  behind  him,   he  bows  to  her.   “    i’m  an  acquaintance  of  a  friend  of  yours.   aoi  zaizen?    ”   while  not  a  lie,   but  it  certainly  makes  their  relationship  seem  far  more  positive  than  it  is.   the  assumption  that  miyu  didn’t  know  aoi’s  virtual  identity  is  the  possibility  he  has  to  bank  on  for  an  amicable  interaction.

          “    i’d  heard  that  a  dear  friend  of  hers  had  woken  up,   so  i  thought  i’d  visit  myself  when  i  had  the  time.    ”   spectre  pauses  in  obvious  thought,   bringing  a  classic  ‘get - well - soon’  basket  in  front  of  him.   “   is  there  anywhere  i  can  put  this?   it  seemed  to  be  a  good  idea  to  bring,   seeing  as  how  we’ve  never  met.    ”

while nina was at stanford, vanessa sent at least weekly e-mails informing her about just how much everyone and everything sucked, about her desire to strangle three new people this week and about how much worse the place has gotten ever since nina’s been gone. 

since vanessa’s mom never taught her much spanish, she studied it alongside nina. she never went as in depth or got as good at it as nina did but having her help her out and not being stuck doing it all alone really helped her out.

nina is the only one who knows the full extends of the issues with her mom. while it is, unfortunately, somewhat of an open secret around the barrio, nobody but nina has all the details. vanessa doesn’t take anybody except nina (and random one-night stands that she’ll never see again ) back to her apartment because she doesn’t want anybody seeing the kind of environment she lives in. nina, though, she trusts enough.

        america was different in comparison to france. the country seemed to hold more pride as well as aggression. then again, how could he say france wasn’t aggressive when his family had been thrown in prison during a REVOLUTION? but, that wasn’t where his mind went. confusion managed to throw a wrench in his concerns when seeing a woman walking among the streets when it seemed everyone else had gone inside for the night. so, georges felt the need to raise his voice above the silence, his curiosity getting the best of him. ‘ mademoiselle ? why is it you’re out so late ? ’
