I know there's only two of 'em, but could you review the Altalaphus petpet from Neopets? They're my fav <3
The Altalaphus falls into the Plumpy category of "really fat petpet", which is an excellent category to be in. It's an Altadorian petpet, presumably because it's kind of a griffin, and griffins are Greek/Roman in origin. I don't really have any problems with its design or art; the sitting pose is very cute, I like the two-braincell look it has going on, and the blue makes for nice contrast with the browns and yellows. The lineart is also nice and variable.
There's only two of these so there's no point in doing categories, which is a shame as it really could use more colours. Regardless, the mutant Altalaphus is...okay, I guess? I think my issue with it is that it just doesn't read as an Altalaphus to me much; the legs are the same, but basically everything else is different, and nothing in the design really feels like it plays off the Altalaphus'. It's not super coherent thematically either; it's sort of a bug but then it also has slime coming off of it? Eh. It's cute enough in its own right, but not super satisfying as an Altalaphus colour.
sealedverses replied to your post “heya non-dutch people i’d like to ask are these things rare in ur...”
I can legitimately say I've never seen one in my life. Not that I know of, anyway. (And while I currently live in the US, I've also lived overseas in a few different places)
oh damn!!! idk i just really like them, they remind me of a fair <: (a lot of people in the netherlands think theyre annoying tho lmao!! i mean, i can understand that but still, they make me happy!)
sealedverses replied to your post: Imagine, though. Your standard reader ...
I now have the urge to write this exact fanfiction.
omg

[sniffs indignantly] [or rather, it sounds like he is, since he lacks a nose. And lungs. And everything else required for breathing] It’s an uninteresting novel, and I’ve never been a fan of fiction.
oh? i find it very interesting. it's a fairly famous novel-- and for good reason. mrs. christie has always had quite the way with the murder mystery genre.
both fiction and nonfiction are equally interesting-- both have their pros and cons, really. you'd do well to be less picky.

[of course he’s reading the murder-mystery novel] I care little for what you think is rude, but I imagine if I continued you’d close the book on me anyway, so I’ll stop reading for the time being.
*naturally. josh is quite a fan of them*
thank you for not reading over my shoulder anymore. that really was quite rude of you-- not that you seem to really care.
sealedverses replied to your post:*so yeah he’s here* *sitting somewhere* *reading?...
[did somebody say reading?] [cue Weiss silently hovering over your shoulder to get a better look at the text]
*well if you're curious, he's reading "and then there were none"* *and he notices you there and while he doesn't turn his head he just*
....it's rude to read over someone's shoulder, dear.
