Recently, one of my players suggested running a one-shot. I had wanted to play some kind of evil cultist for a long time, but she wouldn't let me do anything truly evil. So I came up with something much sillier, inspired by Neil the seal.
I thought it would be funny to create seal-themed characters for myself and another player. Their goal is to summon a seal demon, and naturally, both of their names begin with Seal.
The first is Sealnail. They are a barbarian. Since they're very combat-oriented, I figured they would fight orcas, as orcas are one of seals' natural predators. They wear orca hide and teeth as trophies.
Sealnail wields a glaive. Its blade is shaped like a seal, while the tip resembles an octopus. The weapon is essentially a piece of art depicting a seal hunting an octopus. They also wear a holy symbol depicting two dancing seals.
The second is Sealbound. He is a cleric. Calm and dangerous, he supports Sealnail in battle but is more than capable of defending himself with magic.
Sealbound's design is a little simpler. His sleeves and the bottoms of his trousers resemble seal flippers, while the headband is shaped like a seal's eyes. His holy symbol matches Sealnail's: two dancing seals.
These are the silly little sketches I ended up with. I think they turned out pretty well, even if Sealbound's design is simpler. I like to think he just doesn't enjoy standing out.
