Home from Clexacon and back on that SuperCorp train...

The supercorp fics on this list stand out in my mind because of how creative they are. Some include Kara’s powers and some do not. Many of the fics have downright otherworldly features about them.

My summary: The actual summary of the fic on ao3 is so perfect/intriguing. I would just add that it was cool to see Kara at a heightened level of power. Kara is gay as hell even as a god.

Her Brother’s Keeper by @professorspork

My summary: This was basically a love letter to Lena Luthor and I was absolutely living for it. I read it for the first time two days ago and I’m still thinking about how lovely it was. The first chapter’s written like an article that Kara wrote about Lena and someone made really cool art for it, which you can see in chapter 3!

Tags I would add: wow Kara is so ~sneaky~ in that article, Lena Luthor needs to be wrapped up in a blanket burrito

Terminal Velocity by donteatmyfingerprints

My summary: I, too, saw the grim reaper as this fic KILLED me. I’ll never forget how I felt after reading this.

My summary: Lena Luthor has brought Kara to life with science and continues to learn what that means. I still think about this fic and the one I listed above a lot. They’ve really stayed with me. (First part to a two part series.)

The Ecstasy of Always Bursting Forth by @seabiscuits-us

My summary: This gothic AU has been on my “to-read” list for a while and when I finally got around to reading it, I was totally blown away at the details and the thought that was put into it. There are elements of mystery and romance with a teensy tiny bit of horror. Very fitting of a chilly October day.

A Ribbon at a Time by @abcooper

My summary: Have you ever wondered how Kara would’ve turned out if she didn’t grow up with a loving family and had to live an angry, lonely life on the streets? How Kara would’ve only been able to survive because of her secret identities and constant moving?? How she would eventually land a delivery job that throws her into Lena Luthor’s orbit and never stops thinking about when CADMUS will eventually kill her??? Probably not because that would be really fucking DARK…

Tags I would add: wonderfully surprising amount of details related to Kara’s financial struggles and efforts to conceal alien identity, depressing backstory, absence of bubbly/smiley Kara, flirty af Lena Luthor

My summary: I don’t want to give too much away, but this one was quite the whirlwind. The author’s note says, “Hold on to your seats. It’s going to be bat shit crazy.” One of the best action/adventure supercorp plots! It gets really dark/apocalyptic at one point, but the ending is a happy one.
