Nothing stops or is created       or ends

it transforms

like you do when you’re friends

The beginning bursts                    upwards                        like a bulb

it starts out

kicks off

something new where you

thought there was      just dirt and the dark.

                                 It inhales for a long time

There's something new in the fridge you left it for me when                                    you went to work when I see you next week           I'll say thanks because I wasn't expecting          breakfast    this morning.

I renewed the lease on my house today I said, yes please, to         my landlady She said, that's great                 but I'm raising the rent, for another year? Yeah, I can pay.

Where do you want to go, baby? You've got a few months to save your money

Say goodbye to our parents and our friends and our things

The fan sighs

      breathing out

cooling down a body

            a big

            jug

            boiling.

Wakes up in the in the middle of      the night

and the wee hours of the morning

to open the window

letting the traffic in.

The covers lie bunched like a        new grave down the middle

              of the bed

             welcome home

             it says,

Cranes on the road outside

scrape the gravel moaning                                   duck

             it comes up for air              been holding its breath

a smear

             by the sounds of it.

One by one the lights go out.

Slowly the need to be replaced

Takes a steady                                stretch to            reach up

Blindspot visible from one side         of my head

   if you're someone who doesn't like to think    of the spots that are hotter         than most.

It leaves a burn in the      corner of your eye because directly it's too hard      to describe      it bursts         deflates         lets down anything living for the shortest         time
