July 30th Auburn, CA
What no Blogs lately?
My apologies. We crossed the Sierras from Reno and Settled into Auburn. Hot here and we are getting the rig ready to go in for repairs.
We are about to experience one of the downfalls of full timing. When your home goes into the shop you have no place to live (and it is HOT here). We are hoping to get the rig back on Thursday but the RV shop already called and said that they are not comfortable with that date until they see it on Monday.
Right now we are staying with friends and burning some hotel points, but come Thursday we have nothing planned. Cross Fingers and we will see if we find a homeless shelter later in the week.

Wendover, NV July 26th
Headed out of Casper early this morning. Raining pretty good (so much fun to hook up soaking wet). Rain lasted about an hour down the road, then it was cloudy most of the way to Rawlins WY on I-80. The drive down to 80 was pretty with rolling hills, lakes, and canyons. Once on 80 we put the pedal to the medal and cloud cover kept things cool. It wasn’t until we were heading down into Salt Lake that the sun came out (and the heat!). 90s in SLT and Wendover as well.
We pulled into the Nugget Casino, again, this time staying in the “RV” lane and not the flatter truck parking lane. Very tough to get level and we finally said “good enough” and just kept the slides in. I wonder if they do this on purpose to limit the number of RVs. Around 5pm a large thunderstorm moved in and gave us rain and cooler temps.

Casper, July 25th
Cooler today with cloud cover and rain later in the day. So we head out to bike along the north Platte river. 11 miles made a nice ride and we had lunch along the river at the white water course. We then walked the downtown. Lots of banks (oil money ). Perfect day nice and cool. Since we had not had a steak on the trip we did not want to be ridiculed so we went to Fire rock for a great steak and Rhubarb cobbler (yummers). They are local with another restaurant in....wait for it.....Lost Wages!!! Really good food. Rain moved in so we packed up during a break as we have a long drive tomorrow. Trying to get to the Nevada state line.
