     We fake an escape attempt. Echoes of Will’s own plan, long ago--not so long ago. Anything can happen out there in the badlands. The mask’s hard plastic dug into Will’s skin as they prepared him for transport. His eyes were cunning blanks, not revealing his humiliation as he was bundled into the straitjacket—shackles would have been just as effective, of course, but this was theatre.

He will hardly be caught a second time.

     There was only one van. Three guards, all armed, and a driver. An orchestration of their end. 

An opportunity.

     Will peels himself out of the straitjacket, blood not his own dyeing his hands, blood entirely his own dripping from a split lip and spitting from a deep gash in his arm. He hasn’t seen Hannibal, before today, in seven months. It’s felt like seven years. It’s felt like seven lifetimes. Tears gather in his eyes but don’t fall—in control, even now, though just barely maintaining his hold on it—if he lets go, he thinks, he might never get it back. He might split open his own ribcage to get closer, might die here after all. He’s breathing hard, transported, moved beyond rapture or describable emotion. 

     “Hannibal.” It’s so heavy in his mouth. He feels like all the air has been crushed from his lungs. He can’t breathe. He doesn’t want to. The sun beats down from on high, a witness to the carnage all around them. There might be sirens in the distance. He might hear the shutter of a camera click. There’s nothing in the world but them. And this moment, distilled. 

it doesn’t enrich or plant awe or grant new insights or stir some unforeseen emotion or fulfill wishfulness or hook me with cool elements or drag me along on the backs of amazingly placed words

Kane, Monroe, Pike and Abby RANDOMLY show up when they weren’t even there/retreated one episode ago. This is so contrived I’m a little disgusted by it.

They just literally do not give a fuck. Like. I guess this is a really nice narrative sign that the Maunon are just beyond evil because they don’t even try to soften the bonedrilling? They’re literally like. Whatever. We ain’t gonna put these kids under as we kill them slowly and tortuously???? why?????

Dante makes a good point, ey Clarke? Deliberately didn’t think that through when setting up your plan iwth caveats for preserving the innocent ey? they can’t survive without blood/marrow.

wow. has Murphy really ascended to an understanding of morality beyond Jaha??? hanging around an arguably shittier person has made Murphy more aware of shittiness in general and his own shittiness.

I am now actually delighted with Clarke doing horrible things. It is somehow delicious. The way she looks when she tears out another bit of her sense of self and humanity. Lovely.

However, not sure why she shot him. She doesn’t have a higher threat that she had to convince Cage she’ll apply (she will soon but not right then). He wasn’t gonna give up. oh she does have a higher threat in mind that she can do she thinks. but it was really stupid to kill his dad? would she have responded rationally to her mum just having been killed? no. She should have threatened level 5 only. Dante might even have seen that long term death is bettter than immediate death.

Clarke hey hey, couldn’t you have. Spoken over the intercom on level 5? couldn’t you have communicated the truth. Routed the video of the killings to level 5 (come on Monty is wonderboy). made the ultimatum clear to the PEOPLE?

I just really hate how this show cuts out the people.

honestly i love Eliza’s performance??? Clarke is so............DELICIOUS. Hey yeah kinda like when she hostage’d Maya in PTSD fight mode at the beginning of the season. This fucked up lil bean. And she BURNS. yeah maybe you shouldn’t kill people willy nilly for shock value. It generally leaves family very shocked and in search of vengeance + rationally impaired.

Cage is so stupid though he’s like oh well fuck the people i’m gonna get my revenge. or he’s so stupid that he thinks just Emerson could burst into Command and kill them? I mean. damn Cage your dad died for nothing because you just went back on protecting the people completely.

you know what would have helped marginally? Octavia and Jasper actually having killed Cage while they still could as he was in the living room with the people? That might have helped? where the fuck were they.

Why leave out the way Cato was ripped at for a night?? and the risk to her LIFE that Katniss took to give him a mercy kill. THAT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. especially because the Capitol loved it. and why cut out even a reference to Katniss’ troubles finding water? Why not emphasise why blowing up the supplies was such an important tactic because HUNGER?????? (hunger games)

also why, if Cato was already on the Cornucopia, the fuck did Cato not throw both of them into the mouths of the dogs? Srsly? he was behind them, and he threw them away from the edge?????

such a weak part. He has a baton! he could have crushed Peeta’s skull in one hit! instead he?????? tries to choke Katniss on the edge of the cornucopia while Peeta is only momentarily incapacitated. and Cato’s dialogue???? wtf???? so???? MEH???? follow the fucking books mate! why would he be desperate? he’s not already dead? He can kill Peeta in his hands, throw him at Katniss and tackle her. DONE. what the fuck.
