This isn’t what was supposed to happen. This mess, for the world, for us…I’d been so caught up in what this would do to Evil Corp that I didn’t even think about how it’d affect everyone else, the very people we’re trying to help.
He hadn’t expected to get arrested, either. At the time yes, he’d pled guilty. Yes, he’d intentionally had himself thrown in jail, but at the time it seemed like the only way he could stop things from getting worse. Locked up in prison, Mr. Robot could take control but he couldn’t do a damn thing as far as fsociety went. Of course he wanted to be there to help Darlene, originally to convince her to shut the whole thing down and later on to help her try and fix the mess and see this through to the end. But he hadn’t trusted himself because of Mr. Robot, not until they’d made peace with one another.
Looking down at his phone and Darlene’s response, he replied back.
[Text] I’ll make this right. I promise.
Hopefully that promise was one that Mr. Robot would allow him to keep.
