I have no words to describe the joy and empowerment I felt last night.
Hanging out with my favourite bunch of X-Files trash ( @crossedbeams, @mulderswaterbed, @dangerscully, @chileananderson, @your-perfect-opposite, @so-called-xfiles) was absolutely fantastic, and apparently the waitress at the restaurant we ate in thought so too.
The wonderful talk about ‘We: A manifesto for Women Everywhere’ really moved and inspired me, and I felt /so/ good knowing that other successful women and people I look up to go through the same crap I do. Meeting Gillian (And Jennifer Nadel! What a precious angel!) was AWESOME and I’m glad I got the chance to see her in a non-fandom environment, because it made me feel less awkward and I could see her for the wonderful Woman she is, without having to worry about freaking out over the fact she played my favourite character in my favourite TV show. Now I can’t wait to read my copy of the book and, hopefully, grow and learn from it. Cheers to everyone who made yesterday special!

Bye, 2016!
2016 has been quite a hard year on everyone, but I want to reflect on the positive aspects of it! 2016 gave me a job I adore after two big flops; it gave me the courage to finally take Musical Theatre classes and perform in front of an audience; it also made me confident enough to post my covers around, yeepee! 2016 gave me The X-Files and this blog, which led me to meet SO MANY wonderful people. (@crossedbeams, @dangerscully, @chileananderson, @your-perfect-opposite you’re all gems! Thank you for being the best Fanderson I could have ever met! ♡). 2016 gave me the willpower to begin a distance learning course and start building my future. (2017, please take away my procrastination tendencies...) 2016 gave me love and friendship; it gave me time with my godchild and my best friends. 2016 gave me @mrbarrett70, and ohhhh jesus! 🙈 2016 gave me the maturity to understand my mother and to build the best relationship we’ve ever had in 22 years. I love you, mama! 2016 gave me the clarity to know who I am, what I want and what I need right now, but it also gave me the ability to understand that I’m constantly growing and changing, and that it’s okay to feel like I haven’t accomplished much yet. Cheers 2016, you’ve been okay-ish! Can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for all of us!
