max was outside giving her dinner leftovers to the dog when she saw y/n walking up the steps to eddie’s trailer and the redhead thought it was the strangest thing in the world to see you, of all people, knocking on eddie munson’s rusty door. so, of course she hung around to eavesdrop on the conversation. she felt her stomach drop when she heard eddie asking about the lab, and then she felt anger upon hearing him being rude and heartless towards you.
even though max was much younger, the girl felt somewhat protective over you, and you felt protective over her in return. even though there was no blood bound between you two, a sisterly love still tied you together.
when max watched you leave the trailer park, the girl was torn between confronting eddie and comforting you. but you drove away quickly and eddie went back into his trailer with a forceful slam of his front door, and max ran inside to call el. the two girls spent over an hour on the phone discussing you and eddie, and el decided she definitely did not like this guy because it just wasn’t right for a guy to be mean to a girl. last time mike had been mean to her, she had dumped his ass, and both her and max thought you should never speak to eddie munson again.
but they were both curious and wanted the full story of yours and eddie’s relationship, so next day after school, max strolled into the library you worked at with a false pretense and a smile on her lips. and you told her everything about the situation, from how you and eddie became best friends to how you decided to step away from him.
and leaving the library, max thought that was, actually, a genius move. she understood your motives better than anyone so, that night, she ignored lucas’s calls.
she also threw a brick through eddie munsons bedroom window - brick that hit the boy’s acoustic guitar, damaging its chords. he was in a bad mood for a week afterwards, and max couldn’t help but feel proud of her vengeful action.
