ok how about my oc's lionpelt and mumblethroat? Lionpelt is a large, but short light orange she-cat with incredibly long, once lush fur, Mumblethroat is a sleek lanky tan tom with a light brown marking covering throat and some of muzzle, (basically a siamese)
Hokay first of all I love these names!! Mumblethroat in particular is ADORABLE!
So!!  Let’s get started with things that are determined solely by your characters’ appearances, and not their  ~hidden genetics~.  ALL male kittens will be red (ginger), because male cats only have one (1) color gene that they inherit from mom.  Because mom is red, all boys will be too.  They will also all be tabby, because red cats MUST be tabby! No solids allowed!
Girls will all be tortoiseshell because females inherit two (2) color genes, one from mom and one from dad. Â Because mom is red and dad is brown (which is genetically black), all females get one of each color and are thus tortoiseshell.
Now we get into the trickier stuff that you have a lot more leeway with.  Assuming your OCs’ parents aren’t important in your story, you can basically do whatever you want with their RECESSIVE genes- that is, genes that need TWO copies in order to be expressed.
For example, Mumblethroat being a colorpoint (the official term for Siamese-type markings) is recessive! In order for he and Lionpelt to have more colorpoint babies, Lionpelt also needs to carry the colorpoint gene. If she does, all kittens will have a 50/50 chance of being colorpoint. THEY WILL STILL BE THEIR BASE COLORS, HOWEVER- so males will be red colorpoints and females will be tortie colorpoints.
There’s also Mumblethroat’s description as “light brown” colorpoint.  Now, genetically, brown is not a color. There is a recessive form to black, called chocolate, and a recessive form to chocolate called cinnamon.  All three of  these colors also have dilute (pale) forms called blue, lilac, and fawn, also recessive to their respective base coats.
The closest you’ll probably get to Mumblethroat’s description is a cinnamon polorpoint. SO.  Unfortunately your babies CANNOT be cinnamon because mom does not carry black and thus cannot carry a recessive form of black!! So you will be stuck with the usual black-red colors.
UNLESS both parents also carry dilute!! Cinnamon is NOT a dilute color, so both parents would be carrying only one (1) copy of the gene and thus all babies would have a 25% chance of being dilute. So now what are your color choices?? Red males, cream males, tortoiseshells, and dilute (blue and cream) tortoiseshells, all with or without colorpoint marks!!
The last thing is fur length. Short fur is dominant to long fur, so unless Mumblethroat carries the gene for long fur, all babies will have short fur. Â If he does however carry the gene, kits will have 50/50 chance of being long-hair or short-hair.
