Why do ye hold to your greed
Why do ye seek for gold and treasures
To guard and protect you
When all it can give
Is the cold unforgiving touch of metal
Why do ye build your throne
Upon that which can give you no love
Why do ye seek for a throne
When ye cannot
So much as rule your heart
Well enough to decide
How long it shall pump life
Through your body
Why do you seek to rule
Just to sit upon a throne
While ye waste your days away
Defending your pile of mold
When you can join with friends
And strive to lift your neighbor
While you build a legacy to last
Through the generations of time
