{` whatever he had been expecting with the sudden appearance of the other it definitely wasnât to be grabbed by the scruff of the neck and pulled towards the boy.  He watched in fear as the otherâs eyes changed to yellow orbs and he swallowed thickly.  What had he done to warrant such a reaction?  He had just been trying to get back to his room after class and now he was being abused by a fellow mutant.  In fact, now that he thought about it this was the first time someone had been anything but nice since he had arrived here.  Usually people only treated him this way when they realised that he had enchanted them, as he certainly didnât remember this boy doting over him.  In fact he had been pretty good with keeping his power under wraps outside of classes lately.  Swallowing thickly as something was waved in front of his face he tried to focus on it, to see it was a rather tattered book.  He wasnât sure if it was supposed to be like that or not, though gathering by the boyâs reaction it was not} Um⊠no?  Iâve never seen it before in my life, or you.  My ability really doesnât have anything to do with books, or wrecking them.  {` he licked his lips nervously, wondering if it would anger the boy more if he asked to be released.  He figured though, it could only get marginally worse, and drew in breath} So uh, could you please let me go?  I was just trying to walk down the hallway.  {` reaching up to try and help the process along he was at least thankful that the boy hadnât grabbed him by the neck and cut off his oxygen supply.  If the other seemed to be about to do anything he may as well start singing} Where did you leave the book, out of interest?
{ / it takes approximately five entire seconds for reality to catch up with him â the whole âaha momentâ, only with humiliation and a feeling that suggested he literally remove a manhole cover and jump down into the sewers to live there for all eternity with the rats and fecal matter because all he is trash that needs to be taken out. if he had been a cartoon his eyes would have bulged and expanded out of their sockets, however, being restrained by the laws of physics and biology the lids only pull back slightly, widening as he hastily releases the innocent boy. or, apparently innocent? fumbling, the once violent hand is rehabilitated and clasps onto the abused piece of scientific literature, forever destroyed, and he vaguely considered hosting a burial for the friend of mankind } oh my god. { / he might be muttering, and honestly he feels slightly clammy, like he had consumed too much caffeine even though he hadnât eaten all day, or much that day before that. wait, maybe he had a cup of something black this morning? his brow scrunches up, and he bites the inside of his cheek, trying to collect his thoughts } i didnât leave it anywhere. actually, i left it in the dorm but my roommateâs a decent guy, i can vouch for him. itâs a library book â i retrieved it two days ago around four in the afternoonâŠwait. { / now contemplative of malicious behavior, he eyes the unfamiliar boy, the question replying in his head and something sour numbing his tongue } i did have it with me during classes yesterday, although i find the pretense of someone being vulgar enough to take the book and strip it of its pages to be ridiculous and without logical reasoning. for example; why would the crime be committed in that timeframe? for a vendetta? iâm not sold on it⊠{ / with his suspicions arising his pupils focus in on the long haired boy, his stare scrutinizing and fingers antsy, tapping against the novel. } what do you know? { / alright, it was a bit accusatory, but he could admit that later, after the mystery was solved }
