Bebi doodle of one of my favourite OCs who’s...kind of an ever-changing, reiterating WIP right now which is really fun for me. Mejra is one of the few OCs who I can really say explores a form of a “coming of age” story. Particularly being built off of this experience I’ve had myself of... how far one can dig their own grave before realizing that, though others may follow behind throwing dirt in after you, you’re the one holding the shovel. You’re the only one who can turn this around and dig yourself back out.
The only one who can pull yourself back up far enough to reach the outstretched hands that were there the whole time but couldn’t get to you so far down.
She’s really just... starting to form this theme of regaining lost hope. Allowing yourself to mourn the parts that didn’t make it out of the grave but learning how to celebrate the life you still have. That there can still be something made of it despite what was taken from you or thrown away.
Mejra is... one of the biggest reflections of my own internal questions, struggles, or doubts & I’m grateful to be able to develop her story while still figuring out my own.
