Nope! All the ROs’ families are cool with the RO dating someone of any gender! 

Fae are way more progressive about gender and sexuality, so Azriel’s, Rook’s and Wren’s families wouldn’t bat an eye. 

Eli’s parents know their son is bisexual and they have a lesbian daughter and a genderqueer child. They are only full of love for their future child-in-law. 

Kai’s parents also know he’s bisexual. They just want their son to be happy. 

Cass’s mom took him to Pride parades as a kid and is a very progressive/liberal person. She’d love anyone her son loved. 

Lir’s mom doesn’t care one bit. Lir’s kind are also progressive about sexuality and gender.

Xander’s parents are dead. Xander’s vampire family is very LGBTQ+ friendly though. As they are all LGBTQ+ too.

All three currently released books are genderlocked, and obviously the Heiress one, as well.

I think (and don’t quote me on this because my memory is like a goldfish) Andrew’s upcoming mystery book is slated to be VIP, and that one sounds like it might not be genderlocked.

So, I’ve previously said it’s headcanon territory as I had no intention of ever getting that explicit in the story... but as I develop the game, I’m considering taking those scenes further than I originally planned. 

I’ve played around with writing scenes that don’t mention either person’s anything in particular and writing scenes that are more detailed... and the scenes that “gloss over” details can kind of be confusing to read or sound a little purple prose-y or just like I’m very much avoiding mentioning a penis... because I am. 

Even if I don’t go that far in the game, I’ve also had people show interest in possible 18+ content later on in some capacity, and that’s difficult to make if the ROs are not stated as being either cis or trans. 

But there’s also the issue of writing the MC in those scenes too and what do I do for them. Do I keep it vague for the MC only? So, getting more detailed might be off the table anyway and this is all a moot point.

You did not ask for such a long response. Long story short... I don’t know. I’m not sure what to do. Keep with the fade to black? Or be more explicit and have all the ROs be cis in canon, as that is what I feel I’d be better at writing. I’m sure there will be people mad at me if I go with the later, but again, I’m just playing around with the idea. I keep typing I’m sorry I’ll stop.

True. I just meant that if I write more explicit sex scenes, I would write the ROs as cis, and they would have penises.
