Born & Bred has a deep rooted love for all animals, as we’re sure you do too, which is why we’re proud to announce this collaborative project with Gustav Wood (from the band Young Guns) and our favorite wildlife charity, Tiger Time. Tiger Time funds key tiger projects in Russia, India and Thailand that support vital anti-poaching patrols, undercover investigations, educational programs, and monitoring activities central to the survival of the tiger in the wild. Together, we have created this limited-run raglan/poster combo in which 50% of all proceeds will be donated to help support the protection of wild tigers. So, while you’re rocking your new gear, you’re also helping protect one of the most bad-ass cats in the world! Finished the inks for my screenprinted poster! Now I have to figure out how to scan something so huge, and color color color. I've been working on another huge drawing at the same time! Fun/stressful.

Finished or almost-finished pencils for the screenprinted poster set by Becky and I!

Working big and detailed tightened up some bits from the preliminary drafts: Becky's monster's arrow-horns are now antlers, and the heads are more wolf-like and less abstract. I love it! I got kind of carried away with the feathers and floral details, but it's looking appropriately weird I think. I penciled this thing at Carmine Street Comics recently; here's a process post.

We're talking to printers and working out a gameplan to get these things made. Got a good bit of drawing left to do, though. Inks next!

Here are some slightly tighter mockups of the screen printed posters Becky and I are working on. We're working with five ink colors: a neutral gray, a dark/navy blue, something close to cyan, yellow, and black. Gave some thought to having a metallic ink instead of the yellow, but metallic screen printing inks tend a little too dark, it seems.

Becky's image draws on some very specific, slightly goofy medieval Christian monster imagery. Mine is riffing on Byzantine iconography in a weird, disorienting way.

Next step will be penciling the final illustrations, which will be printed at 18 by 24 inches!
