One of the nicest things about being t4t is knowing you're in a safe environment to try new things with gender and presentation. I got to see my girlfriend's joy as she tried out wearing breast padding for the first time; something that brought her enough joy to purposefully seek out HRT. and I get its support as I try out transtape, packing, etc-- if I try out pronouns or a new look, its there to support me. And I get a front row seat to its joy as it finds the things that bring it euphoria; and her happiness always bleeds over to me.
Being trans right now is so frightening, and having someone there who supports me and knows me, and being that support for her, is invaluable to bringing me hope.
Trans joy is real, is happening right in front of us all the time. Trans pain & fear are always present, but we persist, we survive, and we thrive.
