The night was at an end and you’d just gotten back to the block you and Carnis shared for now, all you want is a rest.You’re about to go take a quick shower when you hear a sound, it sounded like Carnis was growling about something, but it was also muffled?
You walk over to Carnis, who was sitting on the couch, a pillow pressed to his face and the growling still going.
“’Ey, Carnis, what are you growling about?”
He grabs the pillow tighter and growls louder.You furrow your eyebrows and tug at the pillow, coaxing him to show his face.
“Don’t be a grump, show me. Do you have something in your eye again or...?”
After some more coaxing and gentle tugging, Carnis lets go of the pillow and you see that his eyes are red. Maybe he’s angry. You play around with the pillow and feel something wet on it, you check the white pillow and find the evidence you need. A slight tyrian tint was on the pillow where the wet spot is.You glance at his face and note that he was crying, and stopped before he agreed to give you the pillow.
“Carnis, why were you crying?”
You sit down beside him and pat his cheek, you brows furrowing again. Why would he be crying? You’d only been gone for the night and he seemed fine when you left, you’d even managed to really get him to answer honestly about it this evening before you left.You knew that because he was left blushing and acting all grumpy when you were done and leaving.All you can do for now is try to pat him until he feels calm enough to tell you. Or embarrassed, whichever comes first.
