She sees him in the distance, slumped over. She smells the blood before she sees it- so much on his torn shirt, on his cheeks and chin, splattered around the ground beside him.

Kira's eyes flash orange as the anger simmers inside her.

"It's mostly mine," Scott says coughing. He's holding a wound on his side that's slowly knitting closed. His hands are coated in blood.

Kira helps tear off more pieces of his shirt to tie off the few remaining unhealed injuries.

Scott is quiet as her fingers trace his skin.

His breathing evens out, and she helps him stand. There's so much blood. Kira wraps her arms around his waist, blinking back tears.

"Promise you'll wait for help next time?" "If I can." Kira reaches up and presses their lips together. Scott leans into the kiss. It's better than nothing.
