#scorecards

so exciting!! this scorecard is a bit of a mess, but hey! its part of history! its so cool when you get to score a game that you know is important. i am very happy!

notes: some of the substitutions are messy, because they didnt talk about them on broadcast that much so i was running through the live box score thing, so there may be some errors there. i dont think i wrote pitching changes in either, but i can get to those later.

GIANTS WIN!!!!! LETSGO!! LANDON ROUPP WAS GREAT (mostly) AND RYAN WALKER WAS A COMPETENT CLOSER!!! WE REMEMBERED HOW TO HIT THERE FOR A SECOND!!!!

okay, got that out of the way. very much a nailbiter of a game, but i cant be mad at that! ryan walker is a good closer when he actually uh. closes. landon roupp was also great, except for when he started to walk dudes. you cant be walking dudes! (although i think its nice that walking in a run is the only way the dodgers scored. it could have been worse!!!)

and what a pitching performance from yamamoto! except for there at the beginning. i have said my one nice thing about the dodgers.

now onto the scoring notes: my scanner made this scorecard very pale for some reason, so i had to sharpen the fuck out of it to get good visibility. so sorry if that looks a little weird!

for the kim/rojas/pages statline, you can see how i divide a box like that for three batters rather than two as above. you can decide which statline is rojas vs pages, as they had the same number of at bats, hits, runs, and rbis.

i also have been trying out replacing the LOB thing at the box score with ABS challenges- with the filled in ones being 'used up', so you can see here that the dodgers had a challenge left at the end, and the giants lost both of theirs. this is subject to change, but ive been liking it! i need to get better at actually indicating where the ABS challenges happen.

red sox walk off win!!!! i was lucky enough to be scoring this live, which was great, and i was also lucky enough that this game only went into the 10th inning, because otherwise i was going to run out of room.

this is the numbers game pocket sized scorebook! its small, its portable, and it is very well designed. they also make the #22 scorebook, which i plan on picking up one day, as it looks right up my alley. maybe next season!

ah, this is a very late post. but yay venezuela!! didnt score that game, as i decided to only score games logan webb started. (sorry, but i am biased towards my giants.) and now we are (as of posting) six days out from the regular season!

not much to say, really. logan webb struck out a bunch of dudes, yay, i miss having ABS already (who woulda thought?) and i am excited for baseball this year! although less excited now, that hayden birdsong will be out all season with tommy john. yikes.

whoo boy this was difficult. not the actual scoring, (except for that fielders choice out) but all the substitutions! this is my first time scoring a spring training game, and i am not looking forward to all of the substitutions in the next one. you can tell i kind of just gave up at one point, as i stopped writing guys names in. there were a couple of pitchers after the last ones i wrote down, and probably a few position players subbed in as well.

also my first time scoring on my ipad, and i am not sure i like it just yet. paper doesn't run out of battery! i do like this scorecard, however, thank you thirty81 press. you can get them for free on the website, and they also have a nice option where you can get a scorecard with the actual ballpark dimensions in the corner. i personally dont like mapping my hits, but if thats your thing, go crazy!

okay not the start of the season i wanted!! logan webb.... that was not a good outing. once again no one in the giants lineup can hit. hoping that opening day is going to be better because losing 7-0 is just not good at all, but maybe losing opening day is a good sign?? like its different, at least, ill take that. i dont have much to say about this game, but i do have some stuff to say about my scoring!

also sorry if the scorecards are a bit too light to read, i couldnt find my eraseable pen so i just used pencil. which is better archivally, but a little harder to see when i scan the scorecards.
