I'm watching the ORIGINAL Scooby Doo series because I live northern now and internet is sketchy, so I have old DVDs and some ones I found on sale at Walmart. Anyway, the origin series is so flipping funny in a way the ones after just don't have.

It's never explained HOW the gang got into mystery solving in the first place. They just do

The gang break and enter into random places SO often.

The gang very rarely actively go looking for a mystery, in most cases, they're just minding their own business and stumble onto mystery.

So many adults with legit jobs (professors, doctors, scientists, sheriffs, etc) let these teenagers hooligans fuck around in the middle of nowhere solving crimes.

Scooby and Shaggy aren't exclusively off by themselves, Velma gets placed with them a lot too.

"Danger-prone Daphne" she's not dumb or a damsel, she's just kinda clutzy and God love her for it

Every episode has a zoom in on Fred's face so he can tell the gang that something smells fishy.

How many times Scooby fails the mirror test. If there's a mirror in an episode, he will think his reflection is a ghost.

Velma canonically speaks "Chinese" (not Mandarin or Cantonese, Chinese. This was the 70's after all)

The gang jumping on Velma, the smallest member, and letting her carry them.

There's souch more but honestly, it's just hilarious. 10/10 no notes.
