There is such an odd pull in the force, one that stops his rescue mission and causes him to turn to look into the distant - there - such a dark span that rules itself across the sky and the ground. It rumbles with a caution before a looming tie fighter comes above the horizon. A black thick shadow that hides the sun from view, he feels a chill go up and down his spine, this was not good. Oh god. Ben ushers them on board as fast as he can but there’s not enough time.
There’s never enough goddamn time. He grabs the lightsaber from off the hilt and pushes his way through the crowd with a short burst of sorrys and excuse mes until he’s through the other end. All that he needs to do is to divert attention away long enough for the last to get on board then he can work something out later. That was good enough for his father and therefore it was good enough for him - he knows his mother won’t share the same sentiment but he may be back before she catches word of it.
‘ It’s alright Ben - you can do this. Just a big bad scary ship, nothing you haven’t done before ’ he ignites the blue saber at his side as he begins to talk to himself. Calmness drifts back through him as he allows the Force to soothe his worries. It will be fine. All of this will be fine.
